Below average food and over priced. Beer Batterd Hake was not good, Burgers average, Calamari was like a starter portion.

Not a a very versitile menu… most of the menu items were out of stock. There was an issue with payment via the card machine. There was no music playing, making the vibe a bit damper. Coffee was alright. Sandwich was a bit bland.

We celebrated a family birthday at Bistro Three Six Five. It was a cold week night but a lovely fire made it warm and inviting. We had a really good meal - everyone found something on the menu that they enjoyed (the ribs special was...rated as the best ribs ever by one son and I really enjoyed the lamb shank). The desserts we tried were also great. To our surprise, give the size of the village, it was an altogether lovely evening. I must add though that there are “administrative” issues. The number I found goes to a message requesting a number with the promise of a return call. I never got though and never heard back despite leaving messages. We popped in to the linked coffee shop during the day and they assured us the restaurant would be open, which was my main concern. When we asked about this in the evening, they blamed Telkom, saying the number had been stopped but Telkom had not removed the message despite various requests. Surely though the number could be changed on this listing (and other websites)? In the meantime I discovered 2 listings on TripAdvisor - this one, with the incorrect number, and another which has a different number: I don’t know which is correct.More

I rated this restaurant a few years ago and rated it 4.5-5 and have visited it regularly over the years. Last Sunday will be the last time i visit unless they get their act together again. The coffee shop downstairs, part of the same establishment,...is always humming and with a lighter more limited and affordable menu is very popular. We arrived at 1pm and the coffee shop was almost deserted. We went upstairs to the restaurant and we were, apart from another table, the only people there. That in itself pretty much says it all. We shared a chicken liver starter which was excellent. My main course baked hake was very mediocre. The hake which was oven baked was dry and tasteless - it was over cooked and perhaps not that fresh either. This is usually a winning dish. My wife's vegetarian burger missed avocado which is a key ingredient for this dish - apparently the avocados were all hard. The service was good but the other big difference i noticed is that although the menu has remained the same the prices of certain items have gone through the roof for example steaks, lamb shank and the calamari & fish dish. I asked whether there are new owners but the waitress said it was the same owners. A very dissapointing eating experience.More

Restaurant was fairly quiet for a weekend evening. We were welcomed and shown to our table and the high service standard was maintained throughout our visit. Decent sized menu to cater for most tastes and while wine selection is not large, it offers a good...range of SA wines. The food was excellent and one person, who ordered the fresh hake, commented that it was the best she ever had. A high compliment from someone who has travelled to many Countries. The prawn and chicken curry was also very good but served without any accompaniments ( chutney, onion and tomato etc). The deserts were also enjoyed by the group. Pricing is very reasonable. Overall a very good experience and definitely worth a visit.More

This has got 3 stars only because the coffee was good. If it was based on overall experience it would have got a 2. The waiters are not well trained and in their game. Granted I only ordered a coffee and it was after lunch...on a Sunday. I had to wait 15 min to get noticed, was given a menu but had to ask for the table to be cleaned. This really is a basic and the manager should have perhaps more attentive to what is happening, it was not exactly busy. There appears to be a general apathy with regards service. This is not the first time I have been here and the service appears to be going from average to bad. This establishment used to have an incredible reputation, you only have to read the comments from 2 years ago. New owners, new management??More

It was our first visit to Simply Coffee, for coffee and 'sides', and found it a laid back and delightful experience. A coffee shop that roasts it's own beans suggests something good is to be had here. The double-shot cappuccino - my partner said it...was excellent. The double-shot Americano - I like a good, full-bodied Americano with a good layer of coffee cream on top, which is why I always ask for a double shot. It was good, but to be frank was a few beans short (i.e. a bit too watery) to be a really good Americano, especially considering the double shot. The sides. I had a poppy seed lemon muffin, which came steaming hot (maybe a bit too steaming), but it was most enjoyable. An second punnet of butte would be good, as one small punnet does not go far. My partner ordered a banana and salted caramel waffle, with pecan nuts on top. She could not stop singing it's praises - it was superb - without equal! We like to have our sides served at the same time as the coffee (don't most people??), and in all honesty did not say so. After a while with our coffee, but no-show for the sides, I enquired at the counter, and was told that the waffles are all handmade at the time, and take a bit longer. When it arrived we understood why, and it was worth waiting - it was like a work of art. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.More

Due to the restrictions that have been in place, this was our first visit to a restaurant in almost six months and it was very nice to do again. We called in mid-afternoon when, not surprisingly, it was very quiet but, given the on-going problems...with Covid-19, we were actually pretty pleased about that. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent.More
