We’re there for fish and chips. Although the service was top notch the fish was average and a bit overpriced but

Very informal restaurant that has various special nights. We visit on the Steak and Fish evening. Owner, cook and server (all one) we got the full treatment and delicious food for meat eaters and none meat eaters. Recommended

Me and my family chose to self isolate during the Corona scare. Hook Line and Sinker opened early for us so that they can accommodate us to sell wine before 18h00 as per new SA legal regulations, the cob was fresh, the prawns were super...soft and tasty and the atmosphere was great. We felt so comforted and loved and will definitely be back! Awesome service!!! Amazing food!!!More

Absolutely love Hook, Line and Sinker and have made it our “go to” spot for special occasions! Atmosphere is intimate and quirky, service is personal - and the food is consistently fantastic. Can’t fault this establishment plus the drive along Clarence Drive from Gordon’s Bay...is jaw dropping.More

Long renowned for its seafood, Hook Line & Sinker is an even better experience now that sister-and-brother team Jacqi and Carl are in sole charge. Fantastic little restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, great food! We will be back many times.

Hook, Line and Sinker is an unassuming little local gem, with a weighty reputation for excellent service and absolutely delicious food! Their setup is simple - whatever seafood is in fresh, grilled over an open fire. We’ve been incredibly blessed to have traveled the world...over and this was easily one of the best meals either of us has ever had. Can highly recommend the fish soup (out of this world!) and the Patagonian calamari with chorizo. Not to be missed, when passing through town. Maybe, even worthy of being the reason you come to Pringle Bay in the first place... 😁😋More

A glorious hidden gem of a place in Pringle Bay ... without doubt the best hake I’ve ever eaten ... it’s quirky, charming and home cooked food at its best .. £14 for 2 incl wine and dessert

Surprisingly cozy and nice place. The outside isn't much of a sales pitch, but the inside is quite different, offering a warm and familiar atmosphere. The food was excellent and the people was friendly and helpful.

Was a time when Hook, Line and Sinker was worth the drive from Cape Town's suburbs to Pringle Bay, in spite of the bad-tempered chef and the tyrannical attitude of his wife: `Phone us to confirm; we won't phone you';`Be here between 12 and1pm or...we won't serve you' and `This is what we offer; like it or leave'. The food was good, the atmosphere convivial. No longer: our meal was indifferent -- good hake in a crispy batter nest but so-so prawns (and seven of them for eight sharing a platter), lousy greasy chips and OK calamari. At least the two desserts available were up to scratch. (Bear in mind that the lunchtime menu offers all that I've mentioned, nothing else.) The ambience was of our making -- there wasn't another customer for lunch, which one can't blame on the owner. What one can blame her for is her sharp tongue which leads her to downright rudeness. Her reaction to any criticism would be, I have no doubt, `If you don't like it, don't come back.' I won't, and if there are enough ex-customers saying the same thing the restaurant won't survive. The last straw was a loo which smelt awful.More

Hi, We went for a lunch and all that was available was Fish and Chips, unfortunately it was not the greatest as we were informed we must go there for good food.
