I really enjoyed my time at the fox. Jeff and Kathy were so welcoming. Not something you will find in the big cities. I am definitely visiting them again on my next visit.

We are new in town and we were looking forward to visiting the Fox but unfortunately lockdown has prevented us from doing so. Luckily they do a take away option! The food was delivered right on time, hot and with a beautiful smile. The burgers...and fish hit the spot like nothing else. Would recommend in a heartbeat!More
This pub appears to attract the locals so a good meeting place. Very friendly South African owners. Pop in for a visit if in Napier.
Down to earth pub serving excellent food along with lovely draught beer. Fish dishes a speciality not to be missed. Service wonderfully, even ran us home at the end of the evening. Not to be missed!
My husband and I popped into The Fox to get a takeaway of fish and chips and decided to have a couple.of drinks whilst we waited. The lady behind the bar, who also took our order was very friendly and said we could.sit where we...wanted whole we waited for the food to be cooked - either in the quieter restaurant part or in the pub area with the locals. We decided to stay at the bar and, although there were only about 8 people in there, it's a small area and had a really good atmosphere - the locals were friendly and chatty and the barmaid brought us a second drink while we relaxed. We took the food back to my in-laws and all the family enjoyed the fish and chips. I had a burger which was also very tasty. The Fox has been revamped since we last visited several years ago and is a welcoming pub and restaurant with a small beer garden and parking to the rear. Great atmosphere and grub.More
Good food and vibe. A bit on the main road but worth a visit. Good stop on the way back from the Whale Trail
Lovely warm atmosphere. Owners are friendly, helpful, and see to a awesome experience of Pub Crawling!! loved the Cajun calamari. The Best I have ever had!!! Thanks Jeff. we will see u soon with the whole family!!
The Fox was closed for quite a while as sensible renovations were installed. Like folding steel windows which open out to let in fresh air when wind and weather are suitable. You can sit at neat square pine tables with chairs to match enjoying the...view of the main street and petrol station. But folks don't come for the view! They come for a drink, a good snack (or full meal) and friendly hospitality. With extras such as a stove for winter and TVs for vital rugby matches. The menu includes beer-battered fish & chips @ R85, calamari, prawns (which will push you over the R100 mark), steaks, salads. Home-made tartare sauce, yay! A good vibe in the evenings, I'm told, as a pub should have. Also about the only place around Napier to get a good lunch on a Monday.More
Arguably serves the best calamari and fish in the area. Perfect stop for lunch if you're passing through Napier.
A good pub has two essentials: good beer and good atmosphere. The Fox has both of these in abundance. Plenty of seating, inside and out. If you're hungry, there's fish & chips, Guinness pie, even a steak if you want. But bar food is what...pubs are about. The Fox's cheese platter is the best I have encountered in any pub anywhere. Four different cheeses, butter, olives, picked onions, little tomatoes, slices of red-skinned apple, and spinokepa (warm Greek spinach cakes). A feast for the eyes and a grand accompaniment to their draught Old Harbour. (I like a beer with a 'chewy' texture.) A friendly place. (Closed on Saturdays.)More
