We went to the Giraffe Pub and Grill for lunch, starters was great especially the curried giblets. We had the "homemade Steak pie", wow.....it's really homemade with real meat, would recommend that any time. Good experience.

8 of us had a midweek lunch at the Giraffe Pub and Grill. It was a boiling hot day, when we walked in the staff immediately noticed that my Scottish self was not coping well with the heat. Without me asking they gave me a big glass of ice water and brought me the fan from their break room! Top service. Food was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The portions and quality of the food make the prices very reasonable. Drinks and food for 8 came to just over R1000 (about £46). Highly recommended a visit if you are in Marloth! Andile deserves a special mention for his excellent service.

Went for dinner with the family whilst staying at Marloth Park. Service staff were good and the food more than acceptable. Place has a decent setting with inside seating as well as nice seating under a big thatch structure outside. Would use again if in the area.

This establishment offers a fair menu with sufficient variety to either have a small meal with drinks or a full meal. I have been here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.

Soooo disappointed. Phumula lodge has always been my favorite spot in Marloth, whether it was for breakfast, lunch, a sporting event or just a cold beer.
This experience left us dumbfounded. An hour and a half for 4 toasted sandwiches and 2 fish and chips, that were definitely not made with love.
They said they needed to change their gas......
They need to change more than that. Come on Phumula, you’ve lost your special touch. We will not be seeing you again in the near future

Although the service was good, the food was way below what we expected. The potjie smelled funny and tasty watery, like they prepared it 2 weeks ago and the prawns tasted strange!! Would not recommend. Stay at home and braai!!!

Only negative is that the service can be very slow - we waited more than an hour for a toastie one day. Other than that, the staff were lovely and the food was nice. They have fast wifi and are in a good location!

We went to Marloth Park to see if we want to settle down there. We did not like it at all. However, we had to stay there for three nights. Accomodation was already booked (not with Phumula). Those ranged from horrible to average.
However: we went to Phumula for lunch and diner and it was such a lovely place. A really nice warm getaway. Special compliments to Christiaan who made our visits extra comfortable and nice! The food was fantastic and the ambiance was very nice. That says a lot from people who didn't like Marloth itself. We recommend it!

I was there two weeks ago with my partner and we visited on two occasions to watch the rugby world cup matches and have a few drinks. The staff is friendly and obliging and the place has a very pleasant ambiance with a high thatched roof , air conditioning and bush-themed pictures and adornments. There is also an outside beer garden with more TV's set in very pleasant surroundings. We only ate toasted sandwiches , which were excellent, so I cannot comment on the quality of full meals but there is every reason to believe that these would also not disappoint..

Watched the wordcup rugby at Phumula, was fully booked, yet we had good service and cold beer. Some beer on the menu not available, and nothing exciting on tab. Excellent hamburgers, decent size patty, good price. Overall a good pub lunch in informal setting, worth it to give it a try.

This was definitely a Restaurant worth visiting, excellent food (traditional South African Cuisine). If you enjoy tasty home cooking, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service, I would highly recommend Phumula. We could not fault it in anyway and will definitely be back.

Came here midweek for a fairly early dinner while the restaurant wasn't busy. The waiter, who was new, was friendly but obviously still learning the menu and the restaurant. The issue we had was the extremely long wait for the food, well over one hour and fifteen minutes. When the food finally came it was pretty good though. The pork neck isn't as 'exotic' as it may sound, it's excellent. It's basically pork chucks, crisped and simmered in a tasty sauce. If the service time could improve this could be a really good restaurant.

Recommended by our host and did not disappoint. Being vegetarian I was not expecting much on offer and while it certainly has limited choices the haloumi burger was a delicious surprise addition to what is essentially pub grub. The staff are young and enthusiastic, prices are reasonable and it makes for a nice casual outing whilst staying in Marloth Park.
