A Marloth Park Gem

My family & I came here for Christmas. From booking to departure, the staff were supet helpful and friendly. Everyone is pleasant. The rooms a pretty decent with a great shower and nice view into the bushes. I loved the quirky decor. The self catering kitchen could use a little more equipment as we struggled to share with other guests. I definitely recommend this place. Perfectly located and clean.

tasty fresh home cooked meal - such a treat

we finally found a place we can be confident to come back to, thank you Dawn for welcoming us to your lovely restaurant - all our 5 meals were absolutely worth every cent and we cant wait to for our next trip to try more. The prego was superb. My rump was delicious and such tasty fresh warm veggies served with it. Kiddies meals were freshly made - they had crumbed chicken strips and freshly cut potato chips. Eric our waiter was so attentive and overall it was 5 out of 5 experience

Excellent restaurant!

We were staying self-catering near to Jabula Restaurant on 2nd January but wanted to eat dinner out. Although the restaurant was very busy a table was found for us and we had a very, very good meal. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and should we return to Marloth Park we would definitely try to book Jabula Lodge. Highly recommended.

Amazing People and food!

Going to Jambula Lodge Resturant certainly will be one of the highlights of your holiday. The owners and staff are super friendly and engage with their customers making you feel welcomed from the minute you walk through the door. When it comes to food, that brings Kruger/Marloth Park to a whole new level as the food is out of this world. I’ve never had any other dishes like it. Thank you for an amazing experience for our last evening there!

Very good food but an hour's delay

A pleasant spot in Marloth Park for dinner. The deck was prettily decorated and the menu is wide. I had booked a table in earlier in the day. We ordered a vegetarian platter and a 300g rump steak with chips and salad. It was an hour before the food arrived and we were rather cold and, by that time, very hungry. It seemed as if the kitchen could barely cope with one table's order at a time, and there were only 4 or 5 tables occupied, about a third to a half capacity overall. The steak, when it came, was of excellent quality. I thought the vegetarian platter on the small side, but to be fair, it was listed as a 'light' meal, and I do not suppose there is much demand for this type of food in that area. I would recommend the food, certainly, but the long wait would deter me from returning.

Please bear in mind that it is stated on our menu that our meals do take at least 45 minutes as it is all freshly prepared. We once again apologize that you waited a little bit longer in the cold. However, we do thank you for the positive comments you have made about our good food, even though the service was not what it should have been. We sincerely hope that you will visit our Restaurant in the future.

Lovely restaurant and delicious food

Wish we had tried this restaurant sooner in our trip. Although they were out of some of the items we wanted to order we tried other options on the menu suggested by our sweet server and everything was delicious. The chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes were such a pleasant surprise! Others had steaks and were very delighted. Excellent wine. Attentive service . Quiet, classy ambience and a lovely evening!

Very few options for vegetarians

To be fair, there are very few dining options in Marloth Park, a strange little town within a reserve near the Crocodile Bridge entrance to Kruger. Our AirBnB owner recommended Jabula and given that it is at the top of the Trip Advisor list, we decided to check it out for lunch. The staff were welcoming and the service was good. The setting is also nice, on a second floor patio overlooking the bush. While the menu is extensive, there were very few options for vegetarians - a greek salad or a veggie platter with vegetables, a starch. etc. I got the salad and it was fine but nothing to write home about. The other two meals were fine but again, nothing that would merit five star reviews. I know these are difficult times and that restaurants are really struggling. Perhaps this is just a sign of the times.

Best Fillet Steak in Africa

I love going to Jabula Lodge, Dawn the Hostess is so friendly and efficient at what she does, and is ably helped by her hubby Leon and their excellent friend David who is a joy. The food is pretty simple, just how I like it, the fillet steak is the best I have ever eaten anywhere, and I don't bother to order it at home in Jersey. Jabula's chips are also fantastic - so good!

This restaurant has amazing food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere! I have come from the USA to celebrated my wedding anniversary at the Jabula Lodge for the past 4 years, because the food is so great! Best food in the world. It takes awhile to get your food but it's because it's cooked fresh for you.

Poor restaurant

Waste of time. Booked early in the day for dinner, our table was given to another couple. They carried a table and chairs into the passage of the deck for us, very unprofessional. We had to ask for menus after a while. Saw a staff lady in the kitchen first take on chip from the container after it was fried, then a handful with her bare hands. Don't know if she was going to eat it herself or put it on some customer's plate. We decided to leave, never to come back there again.

Very disappointing

It was very disappointing. We did not know, that we need a reservation. On Sundays they offer only 1 dish, what we accepted. After we were seated, we had to wait for 15 min, before somebody showed up, that we could order something to drink. Again 45 min later, a waiter came, and asked, if we had ordered lunch. So we decided to pay, and left. This was a very bad experience. 78

Thank you for your comment and our apologies for your experience. We would like to explain the situation from our side. The Sunday Roast was a set menu by bookings only that we do once a month. The quest did not make a booking and our quota was already full when they arrived. Our waiter unfortunately, without informing the kitchen allowed the quest to be seated. They were then informed that they would have to wait a while to see if we were able to offer a meal from the set menu, to which they agreed. The Manager, after checking with the kitchen returned to the quests and informed them if they could wait 10min more, we would be able to serve them. The lady agreed, but the husband declined and decided to pay for the drinks and they then left. We hope that Peter and Dorothy will return to our Restaurant in the future to enjoy our good food and service and have the Jabula experience.

Best in Marloth - Super menu - Great Service

By far the most reliable and best restaurant in Marloth Park. Eisbein is mind blowing, great curry and tender steaks, large menu with something for everyone. By far our fav place to go out while in Marloth. Owners treat staff like family, good vibes at this place. Many thanks to Dawn, Leon and David, appreciate the quality food and sincere service.

Best Ribs in the Lowveld

We would like to thank Leon and Dawn for the sacrifices they have made in order to keep this business running during these difficult times. They have been consistently providing top notch service and splendid food at reasonable prices. You always walk away very satisfied. You can not find better ribs anywhere in the Lowveld. Best setting for a relaxing bush experience. If ever in Marloth, you'll be missing out on a real gem if you don't pay them a visit. When we walk in, it's like coming home to family. Family away from home
