Called in while out cycling just for drinks. Despite having a garden that was predominantly empty we were told we would have to leave our bikes in the car park and would not be able to wheel them into the garden. Due to the increase...in bike thefts we don't like leaving them out of site so we opted to sit at a table outside in the carpark. When I say it was the car park, it was actually in a table in a parking space in the car park. We stayed for 1 drink and then left. Wasn't really made to feel welcome as a cyclist.More

Please do not be fooled by the lovely pictures. We were seated in a gloomy area that certainly did not live up to the pictures. The staff were really unfriendly except to the locals. The food was average and not worth the money we paid....Very disappointed!More

Perfect when you want simple pub grub in an unpretentious setting. I liked that they managed our expectations from the start - 45 mins they said the wait at a minimum woudl be for food - that was fine for us as we were happy...to enjoy a drink or two in the meantime (and better than thinking ti woudl be 20 minutes and then being disappointed when food has taken longer than expected). I ordered the mussels with frites, my other half had the steak, both were spot on and on the money and exactly what we were looking for, no complaints. Our waiter Max - we were very impressed by his friendly warm attitude and professionalism - one of the most attentive, skilled waiters we've come across. Other staff also were very accommodating - when we asked to sit out the front so we could catch the last few rays of evening sun and then when we asked to move tables to slightly more sheltered/warmer. These little touches go a long way and I would recommend this pub to anyone not looking for anything fancy, but really very decent.More

Well done! After such trying times of Lockdowns The Smugglers remains a firm favourite for good pub grub. The Landlady is very hardworking and extremely helpful and kind. The garden area continues to offer an ideal play area for children despite more tables having to...be outside. Recommend to book.More

We were in the area looking for somewhere to eat that would allow dogs. We found this pub at first glance from the outside it needs some care and tidying up. Was given a bench in the garden under a marquee seemed a bit un...loved. Ordered food staff were friendly enough but more like dog tolerant not friendly. Had no extras like food for dogs and when asked for extra sausages to give the dogs they said they are too good to give to dogs reluctantly they agreed. Food can reasonably quick burgers were a bit dry but tasted ok. Nachos not good onion rings greasy so food ok but won't go again. Staff seemed to just sit around chat and have smoke. Cant really recommendMore

Delightful staff , really helpful and make you feel very welcome. We enjoyed the excellent chicken & mushroom pie and my wife had the mussels. Good menu choices , outside dining was possible under a heavy- duty gazebo

Myself and 4 others have been here b 4 and the young ladies that where serving and seating could not have been anymore helpful A credit to the place Unfortunately the gentleman that was seating on 10th May 2021 was extremely rude unhelpful and made...it pretty obvious he didnt want us cyclist to be seated He came up with silly reasons about where we parked out bikes and drivers could not get passed Well if a driver could not get passed our bikes they really souldnt be driving Due to the amount of theft we like to keep an eye on our bikes Such a shame he had such a bad attitude!!More

Unfortunately although called an Inn, there are no letting rooms. There are numerous B and B establishments in Milford on Sea. The Baytrees is highly recommended.

This has become one of my 'locals'. Never seen a tv anywhere in the public areas at any time.
