About
The White Hart is a traditional New Forest pub with a bar right at the heart of things. Throughout the pub you will find all those elements that make the British pub feel special – open fires, bookcases, good old furniture, prints, rugs and oak floors, but there is also a lighter touch with a new garden room extension, plenty of plants and flowers and lots of daylight. You'll find a really buzzy, chatty and civilised atmosphere, with an interesting mix of locals and visitors all rubbing along happily without the blight of wide-screen television, gaming machines or intrusive music.

This was our second visit and about a year apart. The Covid 19 precautions were very good and all staff wore face coverings. We sat in the garden on a wonderful sunny day. Having checked in we ordered using the app at the table and...the drinks and food arrived without issue. There were a couple of people not so tech savvy and the staff happily top the orders old style. We had a chilli beef style salad and an asian style chicken salad. Both were some of the best food we have had in the UK. We love Thailand and Asian food and this was top drawer. We asked for the chef to be thanks and we were informed they have an Asian chef! Great news and we'll be back.More

Initial meet and greet was good at the door, from there it went downhill. Waited ages for table service and they weren’t particularly busy. Eventually had to ask the young lad to come over, his response was these tables arnt my tables they are Maria’s,...but I’ll take your order.. Waited again ages for food prob 45 mins. Was offered no condiments. Poor service. I had the most expensive roast £18.95 lamb, was mainly fat. Told the waiter this when he collected the plates, made no attempt to apologise. Won’t be back.More

We were sat outside in the lovely garden and ordered a steak sandwich and fish cakes, plus drinks via the QR code - very efficient. The food arrived and we still hadn’t received our drinks. Continued to wait and no arrival so I went in...to chase them and they’d been sat there for a very long time. The steak sandwich was nice but the fish cakes were tasteless (they also were meant to come with a tomato and onion salad but this turned out to be a little rocket with half a tomato on) therefore not worth the £14 price tag. We would be back for a drink but not to eat.More

Lovely pub. I had four starter/nibbles and made it into a little tapas for myself. Worked out a little pricey but quality of food was fab. For dessert I had the toffee and pecan roulade and I can’t recommend it enough! You won’t regret it,...it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and I would 100% come again and recommend to others.More

First visit to The White Hart this evening. We were welcomed by a friendly young man who asked we had any allergies. As our son has a peanut allergy this impressed us. The restaurant was clean and airy, the tables and eating area scrupulously clean....We were served by Wendy a lovely lady who took time to speak to us and chat to our son George. The food was amazing. My wife had the Sweet Potato and aubergine curry, while I had the feta, pea and mint quiche with potato salad. Both meals were outstanding and nicely presented. Little George had the tomato pasta from the children's menu. Again this was really nice and ample for a little tummy. Puddings were also top notch. It's a shame we aren't staying in the area any longer as we'd happily be back every evening to eat here. If we were locals it would be our favourite pub. It's a lovely setting with ample parking, nice decor inside and out. Just couldn't fault the pub, food or the staff. Thank you for a lovely meal.More

We have now been to The White Hart, in Cadnam, twice in two days! We booked for a meal after a long drive from our home in Devon and were so impressed with the taste, size, price and variety of food on the menu, that...we went back today. It was 2.30pm when we arrived and asked if they could seat us, No problem at all. The staff are so friendly and efficient. We ordered two different main courses to yesterdays meals and they were equally as delicious. My husband said the extra large mussels he was served were the best he has had in many years! We would highly recommend you visit this pub...we will be back again!More

Dogs are welcome in the garden and main bar area. If you are eating it is best to book in advance and let them know you have a dog as there is limited seating in this area and it is not ordinarily bookable (but they will... More

Yes a huge area with lovely trees. Also a playground with slides and swings, lovely setting. You can dine just meters away from them.
