Gabrielsklood is a beautifully appointed estate with a great restaurant and wine tasting rooms that also offer smaller meals like burgers and platters. The wine tasting experience is good and the servers have a good knowledge of the wines they serve.. they also offer olive and olive oil tasting. It was an all round excellent experience

We came across this great winery by chance. We treated ourselves to the starters (whipped blue cheese/braised garlic) which were a real treat. Finally, the desserts of dark chocolate cream and strawberry trifle were fantastic. The view is simply breathtaking... the accompanying wine, Chardonnay Agnes, was to die for...

A beautiful wine farm set in beautiful surroundings making beautiful wine and tasty olive oil. We did a wine tasting hosted by the wine makers wife. She was so passionate and proud of their wines. Tasting portions were generous and a few extra were given for tasting too. The wines are superb. Such a relaxing couple of hours in well attended surroundings. Definitely a must do if you are in the area.

Scrumptious just got a new definition, I.e., Farro at Gabrielskloof. We had the most delicious lunch, very tasty, beautifully presented and at this quality, very good value for money. Frankly was better than a recent Michelin Restaurant meal we had in Italy - and that was good, but this was better! Friendly service in a beautiful setting. Definitely a Highly Recommended from us, we will be back!

Not what I was expecting and main course not liked at all by two of our party. The Springbok and pork terrine was unremarkable and a poor choice for me. The fish cake was immersed in sauce which was too sweet and sickly. Too much potato in the fish cake and little fish flavour. The prawn cocktail on the fichcake was also too sweet but the whole dish was overwhelmed by the sauce. The side dish of vegetables was excellent. No salad available separately. Having really enjoyed the food at this restaurant pre COVID so disappointing.

The restaurant currently has one vegetarian main meal: risotto-style samp and beans. I tried it because it seemed so very simple and a strange dish to serve as main, so surely the chef would do a nice twist on it. While we waited, we got a small complimentary soup - it tasted wonderful, and I saw it as a sign of what was to come. What came looked like the type of dish that would be named "X on a bed of samp", only the bed was it. Small portion, no onion and celery base as one expects from a risotto. The alleged cream could not be confirmed, but I did see the parmesan. Cost: R165. I still feel cheated. The hubby's grilled fish was OK, almost dry but not quite, with a lovely presentation and very flavourful curried rice.

Probably the best lunch we’ve had in a very long time. The chef played with both texture and flavours. He clearly put in a lot of effort to achieve the near impossible. Prices were exceptional at R300 per person for a three course meal. What a lovely lunch. We’ll be back with the family in tow!

The only reason why I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars was because my husband's steak was slightly overcooked and he had to send it back. This type of thing often happens, so it's not really a big deal. They very generously gave us a free glass of wine for the inconvenience. I had the confit duck and it was so delicious I scraped every drop of sauce off the plate. They also can cater for gluten free, which is great for coeliacs. If you're in the area, you simply have to come here for the good food and wine!

A firm favourite of ours which has now relaunched as Farro. Lovely staff and setting as always. Good bread course and nibbles but sadly our Wagyu steak was tough and salty. In fact everything was very salty. We did tell the waitress and she said a manager would come over but they didn’t. We didn’t even get a goodbye. I would go back as we have always liked Gabrielskloof so fingers crossed for next time.

From the moment I booked with Mariaan, I knew this was going to be an experience to remember. We were promptly shown to our table during lunch on Valentine's day. Jaydene, our friendly waitress, was an absolute star! We were treated to complimentary slices of fresh ciabatta with salmon and beetroot snacks. Our wine was served shortly after ordering - conveniently placed next to our table in an ice bucket stand. Our food order included oysters, bobotie spring rolls, "flamkuchen", truffle mayonnaise fries and nachos. The food was beautifully presented and wonderfully tasty. Mariaan visited our table on more than one occasion to chat and Jaydene made sure we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for our food. Overall a great experience on a busy afternoon at Gabrielskloof! We can't wait to go again. Ps. Make sure you book beforehand.

We had a most enjoyable lunch in a nice, quiet setting. The food was very well prepared, very tasty and well complimented by the estates' lovely wines. The staff need a special mention. Very attentive and friendly.

Wow! The whole lunch experience was amazing! Home made bread, home made butter, amazing amuse-bouche (smoked salmon paté). The estate Sauvignon Blanc was just perfect and the main course!.....my wife had the simple meat and cheese platter which she loved, I had confit duck leg with accompaniments. It was awesome! The experience was like being back in my childhood in Grandma’s kitchen on the farm, however the food! A cut above!

It was my 2nd visit in 2 weeks, my previous visit the service was not good & I posted on trip advisor! The owners contacted us & apologized & invited us back for a complimentary breakfast (they also mentioned that it’s important for them to know about bad reviews so they make sure it doesn’t happen again). As always the food was excellent, the only place I have ever had “made to order” croissants 🥐. Excellent service on our return visit and one of my favorite places for brunch & lunch near Hermanus & Bot Rivier.

Following our excellent wine tasting at Gabrielskloof we opted for lunch at Farro, the in house restaurant. It was a good choice with a superb menu that fully delivered. The pork belly was particularly good. The staff were superb. Gabrielskloof is a great option for a wine taste followed by a meal.
