A beautiful wine farm set in beautiful surroundings making beautiful wine and tasty olive oil. We did a wine tasting hosted by the wine makers wife. She was so passionate and proud of their wines. Tasting portions were generous and a few extra were given...for tasting too. The wines are superb. Such a relaxing couple of hours in well attended surroundings. Definitely a must do if you are in the area.More

For the golfers out there, Farro, Gabrielskloof’s restaurant, was a bit like missing a two foot birdie putt on the stroke 1 par four. You are well-satisfied with a par, but it could have been so much better! The location and pricing were very good,...as was the tart starter (delicious pastry). My wife’s fish main was also good, a tasty sauce compensating for the natural dryness of Yellow Tail. But my Risotto was ‘scotta’, the opposite of the al dente I prefer, with no distinguishing flavour to make up for that. The service was enthusiastic but we were abandoned after mains. As a result we abandoned any thoughts of dessert. Overall a par rating, with no urgency to return.More

What a fabulous place , stunning food and wine, beyond excellent service, incredible architecture, vistas to die for. We were very happy campers and can recommend a visit here unreservedly. The restaurant is now called Farro.

A beautiful winery with a nice and modern restaurant. Friendly and fast service. Wonderful house wines and olive oil. We chose some of the starters, main course (Burger, port belly) and dessert. All were very tasty and fresh. Recommend!

After visiting three years ago and loving the place, it lived up to its expectations. The new Farro restaurant has a warm welcome, lovely views and a nice ambiance. We were looked after by Joshua, the sone of the owner of Anysbos who was doing...a little work experience before starting his second semester in air traffic control in June, and Janet. The food was excellent, I had Tomato Capalletti, Basil an 15 year Balsamic of Modena and my husband had Springbok and Pork Terrine with fig chutney. We both went for the Hake fish cake, prawn cocktail and roast tomato sauce. For dessert I had bowl of ices and my other half had Bot River Honey nut tart and creme Fraiche. We drank a bottle of Disit Anysbo 2021. All good.More

We were served by the most friendly staff. The location and the atmosphere great. However, the prices of the wines on the wine list are ridiculously expensive (R450 per bottle). I saw the prices beforehand and decided to take my own wine. However, you are...only allowed to drink the wine on the wine list (even if you are willing to pay a corkage fee). If that is the case, you should provide more options to your expensive wines. A Spur Burger is tastier than the one I had at Gabriëlskloof.More

Not what I was expecting and main course not liked at all by two of our party. The Springbok and pork terrine was unremarkable and a poor choice for me. The fish cake was immersed in sauce which was too sweet and sickly. Too much...potato in the fish cake and little fish flavour. The prawn cocktail on the fichcake was also too sweet but the whole dish was overwhelmed by the sauce. The side dish of vegetables was excellent. No salad available separately. Having really enjoyed the food at this restaurant pre COVID so disappointing.More

Farro was opened some 6 months ago on Gabrielskloof. The restaurant is amazing, the food outstanding, the wine list is exceptional. Have eaten at this restaurant some years ago when it was still based in Johannesburg. It was good then, it is outstanding now. We...would travel a thousand kilometres to visit at this restaurant, which we coincidentally did! 😊More

Friends took us to Faro today. Truly magnificent food and hospitality. I think any chef would struggle to improve any item on all of our 3 courses. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Following our excellent wine tasting at Gabrielskloof we opted for lunch at Farro, the in house restaurant. It was a good choice with a superb menu that fully delivered. The pork belly was particularly good. The staff were superb. Gabrielskloof is a great option for...a wine taste followed by a meal.More

Scrumptious just got a new definition, I.e., Farro at Gabrielskloof. We had the most delicious lunch, very tasty, beautifully presented and at this quality, very good value for money. Frankly was better than a recent Michelin Restaurant meal we had in Italy - and that...was good, but this was better! Friendly service in a beautiful setting. Definitely a Highly Recommended from us, we will be back!More
