Being loyal patrons of Marcos Durban since it’s inception, we couldn’t wait to visit the new Umhlanga restaurant. Marco and the manager gave us a warm welcome and we were seated on the lovely terrace on a balmy Durban summer night. Service and food were outstanding! The salad was fresh and delish and the three pasta dishes. Avril’s, the Honeymoon and the do Casa were sublime. They’ve up’d their game and we can’t wait to go back. Can highly recommend

We always return and once again enjoyed the great Italian food at this busy and viby restaurant. Prices are affordable, though portions are not extra large. Wine and drinks well priced too. Our food could have been hotter and was slightly too cold for Italian food.

We go to Marcos’s often .We have always had excellent food and service .Management and the waiter’s always go out of their way to make our lunch enjoyable .
The kids also love their spaghetti.
We will be back

Found hair in my food. I asked for the bill and they charged me full price for the meal. The waiter said they couldn’t find the manager. Waited 15-20 minutes but apparently he/she couldn’t be found. So I paid the bill and left. I blame the manager for the poor service. Will not be eating there again.

Went there on a Saturday 3 weeks ago. Wanted to go the Portuguese place next door but it was closed for renovations. It was 8.30pm. Many tables available. I asked what time the kitchen closes. The staff said just now. I was told that they had started cleaning the kitchen. I was taken aback by the reluctance to offer me a table. Anyway I took a table and again was reminded a few times that the kitchen was about to close. I asked what time does it close and I was told 9pm. I reminded them that there was still plenty of time. Sensing that they were more interested in getting into their taxi asap I decided to the leave the restaurant. Appalling experience.

Nice lunch – plenty of choices – food was good – pleasant server - I had a very average glass of wine which was expensive otherwise all good

The food was delicious and delivered very quickly, and the waitstaff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Our waitress, Zee, was very friendly and cheerful, and it was a pleasure to have been served by her. Would recommend!

We absolutely loved our meal at Marcos Italian. The pasta was incredible. I had the Honeymoon on Pasta which was unbelievable. The service was fantastic and Irene, our waitress, was kind, attentive and all round brilliant.

Don’t bother booking as you will have to wait 45 minutes for your table. Food is good but management leaves much to be desired. Waitrons at helpful

Everything was delicious! Both the starters and mains were amazing! Was in a mood for a baked pasta in the oven and wasn't left disappointed! Service was efficient and the location was great. Highly recommended!!

Great service and food. The home made pasta, made daily, is excellent. We ate the prawn pasta which was fantastic. Well priced and very enjoyable evening.

I eat a lot of pizzas and this gets my vote of approval. Nice Illy coffee, service was good. Thin crust pizza with good quality toppings in wood fire oven.
Will be back for sure!

Usually, go to Marco's restaurant in Glenashley so when he opened in Umhlanga just down the road we had to try it.
The kitchen is the main building and the dining area is on the veranda.
We shared 2 plates of Arancini @R72 each, not your Sicilian style with a beef sugo and cheese in the middle but a more Roman type with Mozzarella and mushrooms. They are served on a dash of tomato sugo with a dash of chili in it, good taste nice serving.
For mains, we had a Cannelloni @R110 this dish was very rich with a ton of bechamel with a bit of gorgonzola through it in the middle of the cannelloni was a bolognese this could have had a bit more meat in it but overall the flavor was good and the pasta al dente.
Pizza Margarita well cooked with a nice crunch on the crust a really nice dough and best off all comes out of a wood-burning oven which makes all the difference.
Pizza Pruscuto a Funghi @ R140 again a great pizza with o mozzarella, mushrooms, and parma ham.
Last the pièce de résistance !! Honeymoon pasta @R165- this we had with fresh tagliatelle baked in the pizza oven. The plate is served with a pocket of tin foil so when you open the tin foil up outcomes the smell of one of the best seafood pasta we have found in Durban. Calamari, prawns, langoustine tails and mussels in a tomato sugo with a touch of white wine cream sauce (not you're over the top cream just a touch to enrich the sauce) there is a hint of chili and garlic. the prawns head-on and queen size the flavor that comes out of the shells really make this pasta fantastic.
they have a reasonable wine list and only bottled beer the waiter said they were getting in a draught beer soon.
The menu is a nice mix a good range of antipasti, a nice selection of farinaceous
to suit every palette, for meat lovers they have Lamb shank, baby chicken fillet steak and more.to fit in with the opposition they have a nice range of combos steak and calamari etc. We never got to the desert as the servings were a decent size and we couldn't squeeze any more in. Great place and atmosphere. The service was very good and a sharp waiter that knew the menu backward.

Seamless booking for 18h00 on a busy Saturday Night. Host was amazing and gave us that personal touch. Great wine and amazing Italian Antipasto with generous portions of bruschetta for starters. And then enter the Pasta Di Casa Alla Marco. What a taste explosion! Beautiful A’Ollio pasta with generous portion of Queen Prawns and scampi with every bite. Perfect chilli balance in the oil and LOTS of garlic. Best ever.
