Absolutely 5 stars for The Diemersdal restaurant! I keep coming back here, and I don't say that very often... The food this time was amazing, 5 out of 6 dishes were perfect, I can't choose which one I liked more. From the fried squid, the...Korean fried chicken, the paella to the ceviche, etc. I really like the laidback vibe so you can just enjoy the view (not crowded with groups or anything!) and good food&wine. The staff is very good (Florence was our waiter), but not overservicing or pretentious about the food (so fortunately not explaining every little detail of what's on your plate). And a special mention to Rosie the Ridgeback, she's so sweet and adds to the warm feel of the restaurant.More

My wife and I went for lunch. From the start it was a fantastic experience. My wife being a celiac sometimes makes things a bit challenging, but the staff had made a note of this on our booking, and it obviously wasn't an issue for...the kitchen. Before our mains arrived, they brought us both two different breads (my wife's being gluten free), which we both enjoyed. We both had the ribeye, which was cooked perfectly (medium and medium rare respectively). They also didn't skimp on the deep fried onion rings, as my wife's were done in a GF batter. Also excellent were the chips and bearnaise sauce! All in all a fantastic lunch. Service was great, food great and a bottle of Rose complimented the meal.More

Even though getting here is a bit of a drive it’s definitely worth the trip . The surroundings of rolling green hills and traditional Cape Dutch buildings plus the beautiful horse and ponies is a treat . The restaurant is a reclaimed barn and it’s...exposed walls and high ceilings and understated decor are quite enchanting . On warmer days tables are taken outside . The menu is varied and interesting but we all decided to share tapas . About 4 tapas between 2 of you is more than enough , to the point that we didn’t manage dessert . The bread selection and whipped dip are complimentary and very moreish . We shared the tuna crudo; crispy fried Patagonian squid; cauliflower and Parmesan risotto; pork with beetroot and blackberries and the ricotta gnudi . The gnudi was sadly cool by the time we got it but this did not detract from the fact the that all the other dishes were super ! And beautifully presented . The bonus is the award winning wines !More

We had my mother's 80th birthday Sunday lunch at Diemersdal Farm Eatery. From the booking to the event I was just amazed at the quality of service we received. We have to move the event 3 times due to lockdown levels. The custom menu was...remarkable and the food was amazingly dished up and tasted superb. This is really one of the best restaurants in the Durbanville area.More

Had a delightful lunch at this wonderful spot. Friendly and considerate service and absolutely delicious food and wine. This vegetarian was very pleased with options available. The veggies were so fresh and tasty.

We had a nice stay there at noon. With 4persons we had different tapas for sharing and a bottle of a great sauvignon blanc. We sat outside under a parasol and enjoyed the wonderful view into nature.

After a well hosted tasting we had lunch on the lawns and decided on the day's tapas selection. 5 dishes including a beautifully sauced ( rich, sticky and full of meaty flavour) accompanied the tenderest pieces of sirloin, pork belly with the crispest crackling, beetroot and...carrots with a smear of tangy goat's cheese and a tiny cup of mussel chowder made this one of the best meals we had in a month in SA. Excellent value and sublime cookeryMore

My partner and I went for dinner last week. The service was decent and the food was mediocre. We had calamari, tuna tacos, steak and desert. The morning after we were both very ill and since we had nothing to eat after the supper, it...must have been the dinner. I lost out on 2 days of work and almost had to go to hospital. We send the managers an email to inform them that we were very ill from the food and he said their standards were very high and could not explain how it could of happened. He explained that the calamari was frozen and the desert was made 3 days before, as if that was supposed to console us. For the price, we expected fresh calamari and desert made that day! There was no further response from them after that first mail. We are very disappointed at no effort made to make it right. Absolutely unacceptable! We go out once in a while for a nice meal and had high expectations, not only was the meal average, we had a horrible 2 days after, being very sick in bed with fever and uncomfortable bathroom visits.More
