CATTLE BARON Durbanville Steak Ranch opened in 1966. A true steakhouse legend that lives up to the Cattle Baron slogan, "the finest cut meat grilled to perfection". Excellent place for a steak. It's upstairs overlooking a car park so you go for the food and not the view.
Steaks grilled to order. Tender and tasty with a good basting.
Service was very good.
Bonus is that there is no corkage if you take your own wine.

Great spot, lovely food. But service very very slow. Many couples sat waiting for ages!! Also Had to re-order drink as waiter forgot!!

Firstly, I would like to say ... I have been to other Cattle Barons and other steakhouses in Cape Town. There is NOT one restaurant that makes better steaks than they do. I always try to do a review and do not always. I know how important it is for a Restaurant to receive reviews as it opens doors for other customers to visit that restaurant. Also for a restaurant to improve where things are not 100%. Now I reluctantly go to Durbanville Cattle Baron yearly for my birthday, while others want a different scenery. To me it's about the food, and there is NO other place that can beat the Cattle Baron's food - steak is my ultimate favorite food.
Thanks to Karin for seating us and singing for me (I said it was ok), The waitress, and I can kick my ass, was beyond awesome. She first made sure of the language communicated in; for me, that was so important, and never had it at any other restaurant. Please pass my message to Her. The last but MOST important... to Herman Kotze the chef what an impression you always make on us, and how you cook our steak to perfection, CANNOT be beat anywherere!!

We have been in this Cattle Baron many times. Mostly for the buffet. But in Corona time this is forbidden. So we had the lunchmenu.
We had a wonderful steak, good crispy chips. The service was friendly as always.
We will return.

What an experience we had at the restaurant. From the minute we walked in and was welcomed and attended to promptly. The service and knowledge of the waiter was good, so the advice as well. The meal as a whole was out of this world. I will definately return for more.

Always good steaks and service. Choice of sides are varied and are tasty and plentiful.

Come here every year on our annual visit from Scotland. Best steaks ever and leave UK in its wake. Well worth a visit and no corkage charge if you bring your own wine.

This restaurant was chosen as it is the halfway point to meet a friend. It is situated in the heart of Durbanville, yet where it is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main road. Ample parking around and quite easy to find. The restaurant lived up to it's name even though we settled for the lunch buffet which was more than adequate for our appetites. The food was of good quality and we enjoyed the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. Once again a good managed restaurant and definitely on my revisit list

The food is amazing. Again if you love meat then this is the place to visit. Staff is friendly. And you can enjoy a lovely bottle of bubbly with your well prepared steak.

We visited in June for a kids birthday dinner and all I can say is that the restaurant needs a serious upgrade. The seats are half broken and seriously uncomfortable. Screen showing the rugby damaged. Food was average.

We visited Cattle Baron Durbanville,which used to be one of our favourite eating places,for the first time in years.Gone was the nice atmosphere we loved,upholstery needs maintenance etc,the service was ok,to some it might seem like petty things,but worst of all,food poisoning...We got so sick,spend our weekend in the bathroom.What a disappointment,we will never go there again.
