I absolutely loved this unique and beautifully executed wine tasting, what an experience! My boyfriend and I loved every second of the cave experience and the service was amazing. Make sure to put this one on your list.
After stopping at a couple of other venues in the area to be told brusquely that they were closing, despite the times showing they were open, we thought we would try Jean Deli.......
What a wonderful experience from start to finish.....
The wheelchair parking and...access was excellent, the greeting was very good and all Covid protocols followed....
We sat on the verandah and were advised to go inside to choose our cakes from a great display.....we had 3 different ones and evrryone enjoyed their choice....all staff were courteous and helpful with smiling faces...
Enjoyed so much we have booked again for lunch!!!More
A friend recommended Jean's deli so I called to book a table and was told they do not book for 2 people but if we came early at 12pm there shouldn't be a problem. We arrived as suggested to find the restaurant very full and...there were no tables for 2 and were offered to share a table or have a self service meal. Needless to say we did not stay.More
What a pleasant surprise! We decided on the spur of the moment to visit this establishment for lunch. We sat outside on the veranda that overlooks wineyards as far as the eye can see. The beautiful vista was more than matched by the quality of...the food, as well as the service we experienced. Thank you for a memorable day. We are already planning our next visit.More
Popped in here for afternoon coffee and cake on the most beautiful spring day. It has a lovely setting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The brownie I had was yummy. Would suggest they expand the grass area to allow more visitors to sit under umbrellas...and get rid of the metal chairs in the vineyards which are so uncomfortable. The biggest negative was the orders being announced as ready on a speaker! This ruins the ambiance of coming to a wine farm to relax and take in the setting. Suggest buzzers are rather given to customers.More
A most disappointing experience on a beautiful sunny winters day.
Jèan's has seriously taken this covid thing to another level. The entire experience is one never to be repeated.
On arrival it looked very inviting with a busy atmosphere but sadly it fell apart from...that point on.
The queue to order your food and wine takes way to long, you stand shoulder to shoulder in a lengthy line that sweaps around the deli.
After payment collect your drinks then wait for a number to be called. A long wait for what can only be described as poor fast food.
If you want a proper glass for your wine it's 25 Rand deposit, 4 glasses that's R100!
Then checking my bill I noticed I had been changed R10 for ice, which is very cheeky as it was not disclosed and the bucket was only ¼ full.
Beers collected at the counter... In plastic glasses!
On to the food, ribs at R180 a portion collected at the counter in cardboard boxes with plastic knives and forks.
We ordered a 2nd bottle of wine at 15:50 and 10 minutes later an announcement was made to bring back glasses to get your refund.
At 16:30 after finishing the bottle no refunds were avaliable so we left with 4 cheap wine glasses that where destined to collect dust.
All this at full restaurant prices. Talk about taking advantage of your patrons....
We want to support our local restaurant community but not to the point of being taken advantage of.
And whilst I am sure they will rebuttal my review using covid as their scapegoat let me just say one thing "from all the restaurants we have supported during the lockdown you are the only one that has stooped to this level, serving off carboard, using plastic cups and plastic utensils.
This is the opinion of myself and my 3 guests, we will not return.More
