My family have been supporting Lupa since Lupa opened its doors. We recently had lunch at Lupa. It was a great disappointment to see that the the portions of chicken in the Chicken Parmasan had visible decreased, the amount of Pasta that is seved with this dish had increased and that, not withstanding, the price of the dish had increased. The quality of service has declined markedly since the change of management.

We were sat down right next to the kitchen hot pass in the corner. This was very Noisy (More then the normal inside the restaurant) and Very hot next to the heating globes. The waiters reached over my head very often to get to knifes and forks. I did asked when we were seated to move to another table with no reserved plate on the it, but apparently it was. Even if it was booked We could have swapped the tables. The experience was not nice. I lost my appetite because of all of the above. Took my food home and enjoyed it there. The reason for the 3 on the Food, I ordered the calzone, it was very bland. My wife did enjoy her Gnocchi. I'll go back when they have sorted out their ventilation problems.

Very disappointed in this establishment. During loadshedding only certain dishes on the menu are available. And no coffee or cappuccino! Their coffee machine cannot operate during loadshedding. Wake up, people, loadshedding has been around and will still be around for a long time. Make a plan. Improvise. Secondly, the little sliver of cheesecake for almost R90 per slice is a disgrace. Tasty, but way too pricey for what was on the plate. Won't go back there again.

The Sunday before last my partner and I had dessert and coffee in the late afternoon/ early evening. Tiramisu and a Cranberry jelly with fresh strawberries and cream with a liqueur infused in it. It was so amazing that we decided to book for the following Saturday and do a proper dinner. Dinner: We had the chicken livers and tomato basil soup to start. The livers had the added bonus of chorizo and was delicious. The tomato soup was humdrum and needed salt. A little disappointing but not a train smash. The mains: half portion bolognaise with penne: my partner complained there was no meat and was still hungry. I ordered the half portion of chicken Alfredo. Bearing in mind that the Alfredo is R95 and the bolognese at R120 for half portions. I found 3 chicken strips in my hundred rand meal. My partner was left hungry. I was just amazed that they get away with 3 chicken strips for R100. Our friends had the cheese wheel pasta which they shared. And loved it. I did send a message via Google to the restaurant. No response. Given that we drove specially from the Southern Suburbs to go to the North me thinks we won't support them again. A pity because they can do better and the desserts are really good. As for atmosphere you shouldn't seat adults next to screaming kids who are running around. This is really an adult restaurant not a kiddies place like the Spur.

At R245 my pasta dish with prawns, mussels and calamari was a major disappointment. The few prawns and three or four mussels were miniscule and tasted all the same. The fennel sauce was like any creamy tomato sauce with not the faintest taste of fennel. The service, although friendly, was slow (even with not many customers there) and the worn-through fake leather seating looked tatty. This restaurant should sharpen it's act and not depend on a reputation that could fast become obsolete.

I live in the area of Lupa Durbanville and really wanted to try their pizzas, I mean you cannot go wrong with Italian Woodfire Pizza. Boy!!! We ordered a gluten free pizza base for the spago and a normal pizza for the New Yorker... I have never been this disappointed in a pizza. It is so expensive and I couldn't even see cheese on my spago, it looked it it was to long in the oven... I am sorry but I have tried every pizza place now in the area and I really thought Lupa would be tops but it's the absolute worse. I will never ever eat there again. I do not recommend this place... Terrible...

We ordered the Marinara pasta that was served in a large piece of foil instead of a plate. The waiter did not care to explain why it's not served in a plate. Were we given warmed up old food? I did not see any management around and the waiters was hanging around chatting and ignoring our table completely for the duration of out stay. The food was dry and badly prepared. I am convinced it is warmed up food that was made earlier in the day. Rather close your restaurant on a Sunday at 2pm if you are not prepared to manage it at that time of the day. Also take note that fake leather seating peeling off does not look authentic or rustic - just cheap and nasty.

I went out with 3 friends expecting phenomenal Italian cuisine. All of us ordered pasta, 2 of which included the pasta recommended by the waiter and one of which was the most expensive pasta on the menu. The recommended pasta was the most disappointing. The menu stated that it consists of a creamy sauce, rather it was served in a watery tomato sauce. The expensive pasta was overall also not value for money and served in a small bowl. The service was average. We will not be returning.

Expected more. The service was soooo bad and we waited over 40 minutes for our main meals and once we ordered they came back to tell us there is no bolognese sauce(they have run out) How does a pasta establishment run out of one of their main ingredients during peak dinner time. Dessert was horrible, old and cold and almost all their gelato flavors were out of stock. We had a friendly sweet waiter but that’s about it. Wouldn’t go again. The place definitely needs some attention and work overall.

The seafood pasta with fennel cream was very disappointing with only 3 prawns and 2 mussels and no taste of fennel. It was served inside a large piece of foil and we had to send it back to be plated. The gnocchi was overcooked and dry and there were very little meat in the ragĂą sauce (maybe 1 or 2 grams at most).

We had a very early dinner where my wife ordered the sirloin steak an I the calzone pizza. Although we were the only patrons in the restaurant when we ordered, our food took ages to arrive. My calzone looked attractive, all shiny and bright with a few slices of avocado pear and sprinkles of cheese covering it. But it was completely tasteless - the worst calzone I have ever eaten. As I plowed my way through it, I realised that the chef had been very stingy with the cheese and ham inside. A calzone needs a lot more ham and cheese than an open pizza and this gives it its lift. Here they tried to use the feta and avo to compensate for this. I thought about sending it back and ordering something else but was worried that we would then exceed the 1hr 30 min time limit for parking. Not a good Italian restaurant if they cannot make a decent calzone! My wife said her steak was tasty but covered with grated cheese which she tried to scrape off. They seem to put too much effort in the decoration and not enough in the food itself.

We went to Lupa in Village Square for my birthday celebration with family. We made a booking which was confirmed before the time directly to my phone. Our waitress, Simone, was fantastic, efficient, polite with a good sense of humour. She even surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert. I particularly enjoy their pizza as I have special dietary requirements and they accommodated me with a gluten free base and suggested alternatives. My whole family enjoyed their meal and we will definitely continue to support this restaurant.

Frienly, polite and attentive service. Vibrant atmosphere. I had pasta zingara with gnocchi, which was perfectly cooked with a lovely flavoursome sauce. I tasted one slice of my partner's vegeterian pizza with artichokes and I was quite impressed. The salad we ordered, Crispy artichoke with rocket, is one of the best salads out there (I had it in their branch in Umhlanga 2 years ago and that was the main reason I visited it again here in Cape Town). A real winner for the fans of artichokes. BUT, this time the salad it was too small for R125. I understand artichockes are expensive but they could add more rocket leaves . All in all, quite satisfied and I will definitely visit this restaurant again

We went there on a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised by friendly, professional service and good quality of food: We had the Porcini Panzerotti and Bolognese, which were excellent and priced well. We did not wait overly long for our food (20 minutes), which is always and important aspect to me. Seating also is not too close together.

Service could have been better but the staff were friendly and food was good. The chicken parmesan was good as was the pasta oriental. Bonus was no corkage for the wine we brought along as their wine list was a bit on the high side.
