I had not visited this place since 2019 as i had not beento South Africa since then. When I walked in and the owner was there and remembered me, which was a very nice surprise. The service was very friendly and caring and making sure...you had everything you wanted. When the food was served it was presented, looked very nice, cooked to perfection no complaints from any of us. The staff checked if we wanted anymore drinks etc and was everything ok. As for the price I wish we could get a 2 course meal and drinks for the price we paid for 3 of us. The restaurant was very clean and tidy you were not cramped in by over tablesand you wete not rushed to finish your meal and plenty of time between course's. We used the restaurant 3 times whilst there says it all. When I go again I will be returning again to the restaurant. In all a highly recommended place to eat. Thank you for the experience.More

I am vegetarian and I have been there twice now. The first time I ordered a meal from the five available vegetarian choices on the menu, I can't remember what the name was because the serving was so small that I asked the waiter to...bring me a plate of chips. Yesterday we had a long meeting and I decided to give it another chance, and I ordered some fritter dish, can't remember the Portuguese name, but also, a small serving and I had to hijack some of my bosses chips just to make it to supper. I now know that I will not be returning to Atasca because if you are vegetarian you don't stand a chance of surviving to the next meal. Because I am a vegetarian, it doesn't mean that I am on a hunger strike. Wake up Atasca, because more and more people are becoming vegetarian because of health reasons.More

We had a lovely dinner for my 25th birthday tonight at Atasca, Westville. We had wonderful service from Ty. I had the seafood pasta which was delicious. Three people had the Portuguese steak and one had the beef prego roll, and everyone enjoyed their food....The crème brûlée was perfect as always as well. Will definitely go again soon.More

Never to patronise Atasca ever again! How slovenliness can ruin one's evening!!!! On the evening of 18 April 2021 my family made a special trip from Pietermaritzburg to "cheer" me up and provide support becauuse this was the first birthday after I had lost my...Son to Covid in January. After much persuasion I agreed to leave home and Atasca in Westville is the closest restaurant to my home. On previous occasions I have to remind the waitress to ensure that almonds were visible on the pancake that I order as a dessert On this occasion I reminded the "owner" who took my order about the shortage of almonds the previous times. he assured us that he will attend to this. I also explained to him the reason for my being there and the pain I was experiencing . My late Son always made my birthdays special. My family ordered some other items from the menu and these were served with the coffees. We were assured that the desserts were on the way! After a long wait the "Senior Manager" glibly told us that there were only two pancakes! Many different versions were provided to explain why there were only two pancakes. I believe that the unpleasantness was aggravated by the blatant disregard to customer care and was absolutely devoid of any integrity. My evening was ruined and the sorry faces of my family revealed the unhappiness inflicted on us by the lack of integrity at this establishment where hospitality must of essence be of paramount importance. I managed to get in touch with a person who defined himself as the "Operations Manager". He was apologetic in the extreme and was to revert to me within two days. On the fourth day I had to call. He then promised to call me by 2pm. I called back at 4pm. He assured me that Atasca has been sent a stern letter of censure. He also promised to get the owner from this Atasca who he disciplined firmly to call me. I called back a few days later and asked him whether the ownr took him seriously because he did not call me. Another promise and still no call. On the preceding Wednesday we had no electricity and my wife and I walked to the restaurant alongside Atasca. On the way we told our neighbour that we really needed some coffee and that we were going to the restaurant. Not alarming!!! He also agreed that he would never set foot in Atasca Westville as the service was, in his words, "horrid" I also passed this onto the Operations manager. He spoke in earnest about the value of customers etc. But in retrospect I believe that it was just talk... His version of the events added another dimension to the unfortunate saga. There were four pancakes when the order was placed. Another customer ordered two and the two were served to this customer. So we ere left with two having ordered four because there four of us So this excuse seemed more plausible to the Operatons Manager! I believe rather than this become anymore unsavoury I should draw the attention of fellow restaurant patrons to my unforgettable experience at a venue to which I will never ever returnMore

We normally eat their Portuguese style Peri Peri flat chicken or seafood pasta which is always great. The service is always good and prices are reasonable for the food served.

Atasca is consistent with their food, good Portuguese food, reasonably priced, pleasant service, the place only thing I’ve not been happy with is the take away service, extremely long wait, and sometimes the staff forget about you until you show your face.

Portuguese cuisine at its best.we had dinner here as it was our son's birthday. This staff are very polite and friendly, snd also very knowledgeable about their menu. My wife is gluten intolerant and this was not an issue for them as they changed her meal...into a gluten free opinion. The portions of meals are adequate and well worth the price. Will definitely come back for more.More

We went for lunch yesterday (Sunday) and were blown away with the lunchtime specials. R79 for One Main Course / R149 for 2 courses / R159 for 3 courses. These consist of a choice of 4 Starters and 5 Mains plus a non-alcoholic drink or...carafe of Durbanville Savignon Blanc or Merlot. The portions are good and the food delicious. We will definately be back. Service was excellent and to top it all, the live music provided by Carmen was just at the right level not to interfere with conversation.More
