Our hosts were welcoming and highly attentive thought our meal. The food was cooked to perfection! There could be a soft background music for atmosphere, however this did not at all detract from the excellent meal and service!

Covid apathy is apparent wherever you go these days but it turned out to be a magical afternoon for us in a stunning serene setting sitting outside this country restaurant with the majestic mountain range in the background and the mirrored dam in the foreground....The Covid menu is limited, however there is ample for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. I settled for 2 starters, which was sesame-crusted camembert, exquisitely plated with onion marmalade; and the biltong, blue cheese and pear salad, daintily dressed with a gorgonzola salad cream. What fine dining finesse! Hubby chose the Natal chicken curry authentically served in an Indian copper serving dish, complete with roti, rice and a papad. Our waitress was well-versed with the menu, extremely polite and professional. The menu is moderate-to-highly priced, but in my opinion, worth the exclusive experience, which is wanting in this part of the world.More

What a terrible dinning experience. We had the ladies fillet, which wasn't cooked to our request, my side dish arrived more than halfway through my meal and the vegetables were over cooked. Our waitress was aweful to say the least, she was not interested or well...trained and we cut our evening short and skipped dessert. A big disappointment for an evening we were so looking forward to.More

During my stay at the hotel, we ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The food is excellent, and despite having a reduced menu because of covid 19, there was a great selection

Kudos to the management and staff of Moorcroft Manor who have maintained their amazing standard of excellence during these very difficult times. A family favourite, we always enjoy a delicious lunch (or two) at Moorcroft Manor during our annual holiday to Underberg. The establishment has...gone to great lengths in adhering to Covid protocols and we were particularly impressed with the way in which the inside dining area has been set up to ensure adequate social distancing. The addition of stylish protective screens separating tables and patrons indoors is great and there are plenty of outside tables too. It is comforting to know that sanitisation is taken very seriously by management and staff alike, something which is amiss in most restaurants at the moment. The food and service was excellent, as always. We highly recommended Moorcroft Manor, the best dining experience in the southern Drakensberg!More

I loved having dinner here, the service was exceptional. Beautiful views and such a quaint restaurant. The food was wonderful, my husband is still raving about the linguini he had. I loved the chai creme brulee!

A chilly August Monday in the middle of a pandemic cannot possibly be counted as their "busy" time. However, despite significantly reduced staff, there was no lack of attention or lowered standards here. We were so well looked after and our meal was excellent. We...will definitely be back. We look forward to it!More

We chose Moorcroft Manor for our Christmas holiday because of the good reviews of the quality of the food in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was very good at all meals from breakfast through lunches and dinners. Even when the staff...were very busy preparing for Christmas lunch the next day they made the effort to give us a tasty lunch. Unlike most hotel Christmas lunches, all the food was carefully prepared and very tasty, it did not at all feel like a mass catering experience. Each table received a platter of starters, soup, platter of mains and a dessert platter. The staff happily accommodated our need for a break between mains and desserts and we enjoyed relaxing in the garden. We were also able to save the leftovers and have it for dinner that night. The friendly and helpful staff and the delicious food made our stay most enjoyable.More

Food is very delicious and prices are good. We really enjoyed it. However the staff was quite slow and our table was not ready although we made a reservation...
