Arrived at 8 pm on a perfect summers evening. This is perhaps a little early as it did not get busy until 9.30 pm. On our arrival we were treated to a complimentary starter of chilled soup which was perfect for this time of year....We were seated in the outside garden/terrace which is well set out. The three of us chose a pasta to start. There is not a huge selection but what we had was good home cooking. Our three mains consisted of a beef dish, mixed fish grill and a lamb dish. All were generous portioned and tasty. I had the lamb and although the presentation was unusual it was a good dish and thoroughly enjoyable. After dessert we were offered a local version of limoncello. But this variation was strong although appreciated. Service was excellent but we dined when it was quieter. Definitely would come back. A nice find.More
The photos on TripAdvisor do not do this place justice. Very pleasant restaurant with friendly staff. Lots of staff but noticed noone came to pour wine for us. Not sure if that really matters. Place was a little touristy. However, great pasta. Would recommend the...lamb.More
Recommended by our hotel we came here with modest expectations. Instead, the place was friendly, the food was good and the wines even better. If this were not such an out-of-the-way place, it would be much more famous.
It is thanks to places like this , that our love for this part of Italy still survive.
Recommended by a friend we had a great dinner sitting in the courtyard of the restaurant with a real mediterranean atmosphere. The owner , Kleida was immediately...superwelcoming and professional and suggested some good tips , she is a wine lover so the wine list is accurate and well structured . Service prompt, effficient and professional .
We tried some starters, main dishes to be shared and were all great, all quality minded. The freshly caught cods (they do offer fresh fish to be cooked as you like ) made with olives and tomatoes were off the chart.Leave space for their desserts, and if you love icecream, let them take you to heaven with their cinnamon icecream , something I keep dreaming of.
Good choice, good experience and a walk through Poggiardo after dinner completed a perfect summer nightMore
Just returned from Poggiardo for the 5th year. As always we love going to La Piazza - it is a lovely restaurant with superb food, stunning service, a great setting, and a great hostess in Claydia. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a romantic or family...treat.More
A consistent winner in the beautiful, baroque town of Poggiardo. They must use better oils and organic ingredients. Wonderful veal. Extensive fairly priced wine list. One of the best restaurants in the region.
At short notice and with no fuss the restaurant arranged a table in the courtyard for our large group, on a warm evening (too hot to sit inside). The courtyard was full of tables but didn't feel crowded. Service was relaxed and friendly. We had...typical Pugliese food (big on vegetables) and plenty of it. Great antipasti in particular. There is a good, if not massive, wine list, featuring local wines. We found good wines to drink.More
