Walked in and sat on the terrace, our doggy was given a bowl of ice water before even our drinks order was taken. Wow .... how fantastic. We had breakfast, it was not haunted cuisine, it was nice and will make this our regular stop when we go into Cape Town. Special thanks from Olive (doggy).

Great Mussels!

We ordered the mussels and grilled fish with salad. The fish was a small portion, but the mussels portion was huge! I asked for bread instead of rice, and got 3 slices of sliced white bread. I couldn't eat the white bread, so the waiter brought me some brown seed bread, much better. The mussels were very nice. We weren't offered any wine or desserts, but the food was great!

Not what it used to be.

Talla’s used to be must visit restaurant for high quality beer battered hake and chips washed down with cold white wine or beer. Our last visit didn’t live up to expectations. Service was slow to non existent and the food very average. Location is still great but it certainly no longer a restaurant that I would unreservedly recommend to friends. A pity.

Frustrated experience

If you have time to wait for good prepared food, then be my guest. Service was friendly but not experienced. Too many people attended to us and therefore I feel that communication between the waiter the manager and the kitchen was zero. I made sure on arrival (11h20) to announce that I had to leave at 12h45, and gave our whole order immediately. We were also prepared to eat what came from the kitchen first and not in frequency of starters, main etc. I had to repeatedly ask were our food was as my daughter was finished with her mini b/fast and I still waited. At 12h40 there was still no sign of the only thing my son order which was a seafood special and was promised "just another 2 min" . By 13h05 I received his food in a take away bag. 1h45 preparation for a plate of food... Like I said the food is good if you have time on your hands

I've been frequenting this restaurant for many years and it's slowly been getting progressively worse but this last experience has ensured I'll never return. Trying to get any service was a nightmare, you couldn't even work out who your water was. Food took forever to arrive, was poorly presented and tasted terrible, I've seen better seafood from a takeaway. They have clearly got the pretty venue and are riding on that, the restaurant is dirty, the bathrooms rival a truck stop bathroom in the middle of the karoo, staff were sullen and unfriendly and the food was appalling.

Best in Gordon’s bay

We initially came her for lunch and found service and food great. Decided to come back for and evening meal and weren’t disappointed. The service from Prince was great.Started with oysters which were fresh and delicious. Then on to to full SA experience of a lamb cape Malay curry and oxtail stew ..,, the meat just fell off the bone and the taste was amazing. Finished by sharing a malva pudding ( main course sizes aren’t small!) All in all very happy with our experience at this restaurant.

Consistently delicious

We have eaten at Tallas approx 10 times in the past 2 months - seafood, curry, meat. It is consistently delicious. The bonus is the awesome view and safe COVID protocols. We look forward to many more excellent meals.

Great Peri-Peri Chicken Livers

On my annual pilgrimage to Cape Town I always pop in to Talla's at least once. Over the years they have proved be completely consistent in terms of great, friendly staff and service, food and price which is reasonable. Position is excellent being right on the road off the beach so you can watch the passing parade. Will be returning again soon.

Very disappointing

We visited this restaurant last week . It was great/ had a pizza Today was horrible food. Service was outstanding Malay curry Was horrible/ inedible, Sweet, tasteless Left most of it. Won’t go back again .

Parking was convenient to the side of the building. We felt a bit left alone as the service was somewhat tardy even though the place was only 30% full. The food was ordinary. I had a seafood and prawn platter and my wife had perlemoen. Will probably not go again.

Awesome fish & chips ..

Talla has great spot overlooking the Ocean .. We had pretty much just arrived in Gordon’s Bay , it was Friday so had to be fish. The local fry is Hake and it was excellent accompanied by very good crisp fries. All in all really nice lunchtime meal. Lots of draft beers to choose from and wine obviously. The staff were very attentive and on point. Thoroughly enjoyable start to our time here .. Recommended.

Absolutely delicious 💯

I am hooked on this place after having lunch here. The ambiance of this place is cosy and the service amazing. And the food. Oh my goodness. From the Cheesy Garlic snails, chicken livers, the pizza, the steak, …. I can not even choose my favorite dish. All is delicious. This is a must visit restaurant when in Gordonsbay. Absolutely a Gem!!! I will definitely keep on eating here 🤩🤩. Good job Chefs!!

Best Lamb Curry in Town!

Be sure to visit Talla’s in Gordon’s Bay. Great location with parking opposite the restaurant. We had the Lamb Curry it was excellent. Not hot, just mouthwateringly delicious! Thanks to one of the Managers, Greeff van Zyl for his excellent recommendation and great service.

Top notch staff, good view, delicious food.

Only 3 waiters the day i came and they waited all their tables with no delay. Not a single unhappy or even wrong order came out. Amazing food, nice view of the mountain and ocean. Staff is efficient and friendly. Would recommend Tallas for any type of event.

Great seafood and service!

We had a lovely time eating their seafood, the prawns especially were amazing! The service was so friendly and the place had a great atmosphere.
