We had a wine tasting and lunch afterwards. We really enjoyed everything. The staff is very friendly. A lot of information was provided during the tasting. Also during lunch, the service was very good as well as the food. We would really recommend this address.

Delicious lunch, beautiful view. It's off the beaten track and they've clearly worked hard to make it worth the journey. In particular, the tiramisu was fabulous and the chocolate beetroot dessert amazing! However, the service was very slow, even when we explained two of us...needed to leave by 3.15pm.More

We had lunch here with friends who live locally, though it was their first visit. The views are stunning & we had a delicious meal. The menu was priced according to how many courses we had. The food was imaginative, well cooked & beautifully presented....It is quite a drive from the N2 highway but easy to find. Being used to UK prices we found it very good value. A place to return to.More

The whole experience was stunning, the views and the setting are beautiful. We travelled from the southern suburbs of Cape Town as we were interested in trying the Italian grapes & wines grown here. We were not disappointed at all, they were excellent and from...memory 20 grape varieties. Duncan our wine host was extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly and rounded off a perfect visit. Cheers Duncan and make sure you visit the Lake District in the UK.More

Fine dining in a gorgeous setting. Small menu but each of our choices were outstanding. The burger was the biggest portion and the pork belly the smallest. The desserts were another highlight: the beetroot was the best!

A must visit. Great views, great food and excellent service. Visited for brunch with family from overseas and it is up there with the top wineries/ restaurants in the Cape. Not overpriced or cheap. Offers excellent opportunities for walks in the vineyards. Caters for vegetarians....Also know wine to be good from previous visit. Beautiful long drive to enter and easy parking.More

This place is in a bit of an odd location having to go through some rougher neighborhoods to get there, but definitely worth it. The setting is incredibly beautiful and the architecture is fantastic. They clearly spared no expense. The food was excellent and the...wines decent. Service was very nice, if a bit slow. We were having a leisurely time, though so it wasn't a bother. Odd that the best view in the whole place, though, is from the men's room, lol!More

Magnificent food, wine, service and a view to die for. Idiom must have one of the most spectacular views of any restaurant in Cape Town. We had the three course lunch with wine tasting. Superb in every way, couldn’t be faulted. We were there on...a hot day with 35” temperatures but the cool sea breeze made it bearable. Our waiter, Tinashe, was excellent and very knowledgeable about the wines, giving us small tasting glasses before we selected the wines to accompany our lunch dishes. BrilliantMore

it took over an hour between the starter and main dish and when the food finally came it had nothing to do with the descrption on the menu. different ingredients and different cooking technique than stated on the menu. from "honey roasted" to in reality...deep fried or from cauliflower to mushroom... the spacedesign was very different from what you would expect from internet pictures. it felt like a touristbus stop for large groups. the table in front of us also compalined on the delays. the only plus: waiters and manager were polite and nice.More

We visited six wine estates in Stellenbosch and Idiom was by far our favourite. We had breakfast - the best eggs Benedict I have ever had in my life - on the terrace with an incredible view. Then to the wine tasting which was really...fun. At other wine estates we were given the wine and that was it, but at Idiom our amazing host took us through all the wines, answering all our questions, and guiding us through the process. She said she’d only been at Idiom six months but she was a real pro, we really enjoyed chatting to her. And to top it off the owner of the estate was tasting his new wines, and generously answered our questions. A lovely experience.More

Ordered the ‘Duology’ - bacon and scrambled egg and and and - so much I couldn’t possibly eat it all. Turns out it was R 230 for us both which would have been great for one of us - but was actually for us both....Mushrooms were Devine - being off bread they gave polenta instead which was yummy. There was a tomato salsa concoction that was possibly a receipt I would pay for.More
