The hotel is a bit dilapidated already but it still has its charm. It’s proximity to Newport Mall makes it possible for the family to enjoy the restaurants, movie house or theatre. Staycation is not complete without good food and a fast internet connection, which makes a lot of difference for me when I blog and for the boys when they play Fortnite or Minecraft. We want to enjoy the rooms as much as possible and try to eat in at night.

Overall, this is the best steak brunch in Manila with the best One Bonifacio High Street vibe. Kudos to Chef Chris Oronce because this branch is tops in terms of steak flavor. This is the finest place to celebrate with a Wolfgang steak. You have to decide whether to get the Filet Mignon & Eggs (250g – ₱2,388) set brunch specials or the Rib-Eye (600g – ₱4,488) a la carte. The set brunch is good value for money and the biggest of the big US-serving standard that’s good for two. For steak lovers,

Having a bit of a rocky start with the closure and reopening of Boracay, Mövenpick has cemented itself as a successful family-oriented resort that caters to Boracay visitors who enjoy a bit of privacy from the hustle and bustle of the island. Best for families or romantic getaways, be sure to book early as the resort tends to fill-up fast, especially during peak seasons.

Overall, this is indeed the best English Pub in Boracay, now at home in White House. We would go back for the Smoked Tomato Soup and Roxas Fresh Oysters for appetizers then Pub-Style Fish and Chips, Lamb Kofta or Dino Ribs for main dishes. We loved the wide selection of all-Filipino Craft Beers on tap and Sirena Spirits from Aklan. Budget about P800/head. Best to go during lunchtime to enjoy the food or at the end of the day to start your Boracay night with certified Roxas fresh Oysters!

Overall, we love Osteria for its casual elegant vibe, Rambla-quality cocktails with curated wine selections and good quality Italian food. Our favorites are Vitello Tonnato and Polpo alla Griglia for Antipasti, Cioppino for the soup, Orecchiette and Capellini Neri for the pasta, Costolette di Agnello alla Milanese for the meat and Semifreddo alla Fragola for dessert. Budget ₱2,000/head for the meal + drinks. It’s better to go with a group, and make sure to order the right dishes to make your

If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo, you might want to make a side trip to one of Japan’s best kept secrets! It’s Japan’s oldest castle! Matsumoto Castle is one of the five castles designated as National Treasures of Japan. It’s over 400 years old, making it the oldest castle donjon remaining in the country. Unlike many palaces in Japan, the original structure was, fortunately, not bombed during WWII, keeping most of its original wooden donjons and walls. It’s my second time visiting the famed attraction and here are some tips that I wished I knew on my first visit…
