This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
Took a peek inside the NY Library and took some pictures. Yes, I got strange looks (mainly from my son) who found it odd that I'd want pictures from the NYC library. I'm am movie and tv fan and love seeing these iconic sights, even the inside of a library.
The food is fast and hot. Due to COVID-19 you can’t sit in but it’s still delicious. Variety of bagels with toppings and colors. It’s also other breakfast items sold here. I choose two rainbow bagels (one toasted and one not).
Our lunch was fabulous, beautifully prepared and served by a gracious friendly waiter. Our reservation was for 2:00 p.m. and we finished about shortly after 3:00.
During our meal, two different waiters came out and changed tablecloths at adjacent tables. Then they ironed the cloths on the table.! Disconcerting in a Michelin 2 star restaurant to have housekeeping tasks done...
Me and my boyfriend visited this place every morning while we were in NewYork! The best bagels I’ve ever tried! The queue was out the door some mornings but don’t let that put you off as they have a system that works and it’s quick and efficient! The menu is endless and the bagels are sooo fresh!
Definitely the best place we have ever stayed in NYC. The location is perfect for staying near the Theater District. We found it very relaxing to return from a night at the theater and visit the lounge. We will return!
It's a spectacular hotel. The staff is superb, and my room was exquisite with lots of charm. It was perfectly situated in the middle of Midtown, with great details like the soundproofing around the door to avoid hallway noise. The bed was quite comfortable, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. I would absolutely
My fourth time here at my New York home, always such a lovely welcome from door men and reception who instantly welcome you back like an old friend. Although I always arrive early the nearly always have my room ready for me and if not I am sat down with a drink in the cosy lounge and wait for a...
We had a fantastic time and enjoyed our stay there very much! My younger daughter booked this trip for the three of us, each celebrating a milestone ( 40th BD, 70th BD and Nursing graduation). I loved the chocolates every day!!!! Wish I could get them here! All the staff were accommodating. This was a once in a lifetime experience...
"Sadly it is closing and converting to office space"
reviewed 5 days ago by NYC-Canuck
It came out in the papers on 31 July 2020 that the hotel will be closing up. The entire landmark building, including the Koi restaurant and the Ceylon lounge is being offered as “boutique” office space.
