Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
I've read biographies of Teddy and visited his Sagamore home so there wasn't much I hadn't heard before. My husband knew only a little and he thought it was a great tour - especially since it was free!
They do have junior ranger books there which are a great way for your kids to learn something and earn a badge...
"A newly opened Photographic museum on Park Avenue, New York CIty"
reviewed 4 February 2020 by TravelRalphy
I highly recommend this newly opened museum which originated in Stockholm, Sweden. Each floor has various themes. The black women exhibit was very impressive.
The bookstore has several interesting photography books. The cafe was not bad.
We suggested they serve some Scandinavian pastry.
I recently purchased an art piece from Lilac Gallery via the internet site 1stdibs. I dealt with Cynthia from the gallery. She was most helpful in answering all my questions in a timely fashion. Once the piece was purchased she made shipping arrangements immediately and I received the piece within 5 days. The shipping packaging was outstanding so no damage...
Pen and Brush supports women artists, both writers and visual artists. The gallery itself features the work of one woman at a time, and when I visited last week Michela Martello was the featured artist. I was unfamiliar with her work, but it is beautiful and impressive, and Pen and Brush did a wonderful job of showing the pieces and...
Yes you should visit NYC during COVID and YES you should visit this restaurant. Not all restaurants are open but this gem definitely is. Great service by Erin and great good. Nice setup outside while respecting all the COVID regulations.
My wife and I took my older son and daughter in law, and my younger son and his fiance to celebrate their getting engaged- the meal was outstanding, the restaurant interesting and beautiful and the service was great.
A very special experience
Hard to get reservation. Now they offer same/similar food in bar area as the price fix meal in the dining room. our flight got delayed quite a bit and we missed our dining room reservation but ate in bar instead. Because of that, they served many of their dining room entrees to us in bar. They were all great. had...
The meal I’ve ever had. Never thought I’d be able to actually make that call, but I’ve been mulling on it for just over a week, and it simply was. I can’t think of another time when my taste buds have enjoyed themselves so much.
6 of us visited and simply the wine, started and mains that we tried were...
