Basmanny is Moscow’s most artsy neighborhood, containing the highest amount of galleries and cultural spots per square meter in the city. Spend the whole day discovering Russian contemporary art at Winzavod and design at Artplay before moving from the industrial scenery to the Chistye ponds for a calming dinner.
One of the best creative clusters in Moscow. Designer shops, restaurants, several educational institutions, clubs, Summer fairs, art exhibitions, concerts and so on. Best visited in Summer. Other clusters worth mentioning and visiting are Arma (in the vicinity), Red October (opposite Christ the Savior cathedral) and Flacon.
A long worthwhile walk if you have the time. Good vantage points for photo's and lots of cafes as well. There are exquisite cozy 18-19th century mansions from Moscow nobility to view during the walk as well.

Winzavod is an old factory, which like many others, Has been turned into an area full of art galleries, concept stores, restaurants, etc.
Probably not to everybody's taste, but definitively worth a visit.
Located a short walk from Kurskaya metro station. It is possible to park on the side streets, but it can be difficult to find a parking space,...
"Every time I go to this museum I am profoundly affected by the history it tells. I want to spend more time there."

This is an incredibly important museum, there's not much like it in Russia or the world. It's a tribute to the bravery of so many people, many of them average citizens, and serves as a tasteful and profound memorial to those unjustly persecuted by the state. There is so much to learn, and so many opportunities presented to research Soviet...

On my trip to Moscow from USA, I visited restaurant twice for breakfast and dinner. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. The atmosphere was cozy and very friendly. There is nothing like sitting on the couch in front of a cozy fire place and having a dinner with my cousin and friends. The whole experience was fantastic. The...

I visited this place for a business lunch. I had a tasteful soup as starter and the penne pasta for main dish. Friendly staff speaking English, quick service and nice environment. What could be better was the "al dente" feeling on the pasta. It was boiled 1 minute too long. If it had been a dinner, I should have downgraded...
This is a great little spot to eat...the service was great, we knew nothing about this type of food so the server helped us pick a selection of dishes which were all really delicious. It's small and busy and a little bit hard to find but we'll worth the visit. They only take cash so be prepared, although prices are...
An extremely good Japanese restaurant with helpful and attentive staff and a HUGE menu, really hard to choose what to eat. They even have Korean kimchi on the list.
You can feel the effort that was put in choosing the best and freshest fish. Will be surely back. Prices are more than adequate.
Good hotel with suites and spa accommodation. Excellent location, near Kurskaya train station, not far from city centre, lots of restaurants around. Yet very residential and calm place.
Nice apartment with separate bedroom, plenty of storage, bathroom with bath and separate toilet, big screen tv in living room and bedroom. Everything was clean and had a comfortable home feeling. Very...
