Basmanny is Moscow’s most artsy neighborhood, containing the highest amount of galleries and cultural spots per square meter in the city. Spend the whole day discovering Russian contemporary art at Winzavod and design at Artplay before moving from the industrial scenery to the Chistye ponds for a calming dinner.
One of the best creative clusters in Moscow. Designer shops, restaurants, several educational institutions, clubs, Summer fairs, art exhibitions, concerts and so on. Best visited in Summer. Other clusters worth mentioning and visiting are Arma (in the vicinity), Red October (opposite Christ the Savior cathedral) and Flacon.
The Sadovoe (Garden) and Bulvarnoe (Boulevard) rings seem to be so integral elements of Moscow's urban planning that similar planning decisions in other capital cities - for example, the Vienna ring - are involuntarily compared to them. Winzavod is an old factory, which like many others, Has been turned into an area full of art galleries, concept stores, restaurants, etc.
Probably not to everybody's taste, but definitively worth a visit.
Located a short walk from Kurskaya metro station. It is possible to park on the side streets, but it can be difficult to find a parking space,...
"Every time I go to this museum I am profoundly affected by the history it tells. I want to spend more time there."

This is an incredibly important museum, there's not much like it in Russia or the world. It's a tribute to the bravery of so many people, many of them average citizens, and serves as a tasteful and profound memorial to those unjustly persecuted by the state. There is so much to learn, and so many opportunities presented to research Soviet...

"A place to come back"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by nata_adventurer
The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, hostesses and waiters are very friendly.
Food is amazing. All ordered dishes and drinks were excellent! Service was quick.
Prices are very fair, probably it helps to keep relaxed atmosphere and attract a nice crowd of guests.
It is the place to come back (and we did it in a few days after disappointing experience...
This is a great little spot to eat...the service was great, we knew nothing about this type of food so the server helped us pick a selection of dishes which were all really delicious. It's small and busy and a little bit hard to find but we'll worth the visit. They only take cash so be prepared, although prices are...
Aren’t you supposed to eat local food in Moscow on your first visit to Russia?
Well, we decided to check the next door restaurant: Yume (Japanese -Asian )
What a nice surprise! Huge choice of dishes, sushi, ramen and so on.
Definitely a good choice!
Excellent rooms and food, excellent location would highly recommend. I was there on business, pre world-cup, staff were very friendly and spoke good English, room was clean, room service was good. Used Uber a lot around Moscow, would stay again.
