Home to both local families and transient expats, Tiong Bahru is a fascinating mix of tradition and youthful creativity. Its status as a conservation area ensures that this little hub has charm and heritage on display at every corner, while the 1930s art deco architecture provides a glimpse of days gone by. Stock up on fresh tropical fruits at the wet market, browse high quality literature and children’s books, shop for interesting gifts and local fashion, or munch on bargain-priced hawker food as the aroma of frying noodles and fresh-brewed coffee wafts through the air. Cap your day with a massage and a latte, a glass of wine, or a pain au chocolat from one of the many busy bakeries. An afternoon in this vibrant and beautiful neighbourhood is not to be missed.

We had the grilled octopus, the dips with pita bread, stuffed peppers with rice, and fried cod and chips....
My hotel was a block away from the market. I went there pretty much every other day to grab a bite or a full meal. Cheep beer! It is one of the cleanest and most spacious food centers I went to while in Singapore. Totally recommend it.
Always love the food and service of Merci Marcel. Service is friendly and the food is always up to par! Especially the Ravioles de Royan is seriously the best ever! They have a garden area thats great for pictures and the music makes you want to dance. Cocktails and wine selections were the best and always best to go along...
People make hotels and as i use them a great deal due to work, I regularly judge a good stay if I have can name one member of staff after I have left- in this case I can mention, Zul, Zubaidah, Jeremy, Rina, Toni and Siti! sorry for the names I have forgotten but what a great team! I was...
Such a disappointing end to a great holiday. This accommodation was just the pits, staff were extremely unhelpful, especially upon departure and trying to get a shuttle to the airport, they had no clue, nor did they wish to help. We actually had to rely on a different hotel's doorman to help us get there!
Upon arrival we were told...
