For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
Awesome experience of viewing history military campaigns encompassing conquest of Constantinople (present Istanbul) by the Muslims, the military campaign by Kamal Ata Turk for revival of Turkey after the WW-I, and then listen to the gallant tunes of the Mehtar Band along with the performance. An experience worth watching and remembering!!

"One of the GREAT Men of the 20th Century: Turkey's Churchill"
reviewed 3 October 2019 by draygnol
Few westerners know about the remarkable life and career of Moustafa Kemal (Attaturk). SInglehandedly he dragged the Ottoman Empire out of the stone age and brought it into the modern world. He freed slaves, liberated women, and opened schooling for all. If you don't know about him, you should. This museum is a place to start.
Three friends flew in and I had to entertain them late. They were hungry and thirsty. Free flowing Efes, great staff, reasonable food equals three happy guests. I thought enjoy this bar. It could do more inter national sport considering the Expats that live in the area of Sisli.

The rooms are spotless, fresh sheets every day, very comfortable bed. We asked for an extra duvet; no problem. Soft fluffy towels and dressing gown...

The Fox was one of the best hotels I ever stayed. Location is quite convinient and rooms were clean. Interior of the hotel is stylish and modern. Staff was very helpful and they speak good English. Definitely will come back.
The hotel facilities could be a bit old, but the service is definitely up to the Park Hyatt standard. Very efficient service, breakfast is great. Beautiful sea view from the room. Love the tub and the steam room.
