A splendid architectural achievement, it is one of the triumvirate of magnificent edifices designed by Hansen along the Boulevard.
Beautifully honouring Plato’s Academy, it has a wonderful Neo-Classical façade. Numerous fine sculptures adorn the edifice, many by the renowned artist Leonidas Drosis.
A pediment sequence of figures is on the theme of the Birth of Athena. The Protectress also features...
It looked marvellous on the clear azure sky day of our visit. Ascending the sweeping stairway we admired its marble and soaring columns.
Housing the library for well over a century, the limitations on space and its infrastructure led to planning for a new library. This opened in 2018 as part of the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Institution towards the south...

In a Boulevard of marvellous buildings, this place of worship is magnificent. A Neo-Renaissance façade in gorgeous hued marble comprises an array of columns and arches atop a series of steps in the same stone.
Inside is beautiful. From the entrance is an awe-inspiring vision of columns and arches leading to the high altar. This is crowned with a glorious...
I’m going to go against the other reviews (please see my profile if you have doubts). I went with my kids and my daughter (10y) loved it. It’s one floor, 30 minutes, but it’s actually a lot of fun. If you’re in the area with kids I would go. Even my difficult teenage son enjoyed it (he insists he’s not...
In an old building but with modern decoration, you have an excellent meat restaurant. The meat is beyond comparison and the service smartly elegant. The wines are highly overpriced. If you like meat, go there.
Delicious breakfast and coffee for €10. I had the Greek breakfast, and it was a lovely mix of very tasty food. Was delighted to find this spot.
I’m not much a pastry eater, but I saw some in the display case and they were beautiful. I did take away a chocolate truffle for later.

Tucked away, small and friendly. Really good food. We had Penne Arrabiata and grilled chicken with roast new potatoes. Both delicious. Bruschetta to start was fresh and garlicky! Panna cotta and ice cream for dessert topped it off. At 39 euros inc drinks really good value!
Delicious food, i was longing for some proper meat we found them by luck.. nice salads nice grilled food. Menu was in greek so i didnt really know what i was ordering but all turned out to be very nice
Location is close to restaurants and central Athens, and close to the metro. The room was very clean and very comfortable, it's a great place to relax in Athens. The lobby had nice, luxurious decor. Highly recommended!
