A visit to Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands presents the opportunity to marvel at its many modern architectural masterpieces like the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam and the beguiling Python Bridge while taking in its scenic waterfront with its trendy assortment of cafés, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Here in this post-industrial (though in some parts still very much presently industrial) neighborhood, you’ll find a smart selection of cool galleries and shops as well as the kid-friendly Science Center NEMO and the National Maritime Museum.
Eat, see, and stay in Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk Havengebied)
After the announcement from the government that the term "staying at home" less strict, a lot of people going out looking for refreshment in the beautiful sunny day. This Phythonbrug area is a nice place to visit. And for a lot of Amsterdammer who can't wait to get in the water, this bridge is the best place to dive into...
To be fair, most of the KNSM island is interesting just architecturally speaking. The IJ side of the island is pretty boring, except for the water views, good for dog walking or running. With the exception of the quay crane B&B, which is kind of funny. When coming up to the end of the Surinamekade, one has a great view...
It is the work of artist, Mark Manders. Image of two sexless human figures, standing on a low table, with a small chair behind it and a bucket in front of the table. This artwork is located in the middle of Tegelberg Square between two trees and looking over the water. It's very interesting to take a look this artwork...
LOVED everything here. They have gluten-free options for the bagels. If you have any allergies, they are really careful when they make your food. The staff is really nice. The place has very good atmosphere.
We had a lovely evening and dining experience at the Silk Road. Food was excellent, service was the best. I had lamb chops cooked to perfection. Being a small eater, there was enough food to satisfy; if you are a man or used to huge American meals, you might go home hungry.
Great for groups of friends where you want to taste as many dishes as possible. All comes in small portions at low price. Quality is good however and service friendly. Possibility to reserve the first floor for larger groups.
This restaurant advertises itself as Dutch with a twist. Boy were they not kidding! Outstanding creative cocktails and food out of this world...every bite was delicious and we couldn't recommend this place more highly!
We stayed here for 2 nights and lovend It very much. We had a junior suite. It was not so big, but good. The bathroom was big. The rooms have big doors that open to the balcony. Very nice. The bed was good. We had breakfast in the hotel with a good choice. Because of the COVID there were some...
This hotel might not be located in the very centered of Amsterdam, but in a rather modern and residential areal. It is worth every euro, for its professional staff (specially Eva), their attentive service, great rooms, good rates, nice breakfast and most importantly nowadays, great follow through of the Covid19 protocols.
I really recommend this place!
Lovely clean rooms. Room service was amazing 5* although very expensive but that's what you get for staying in a nice hotel. Really enjoyed staying here. Good location, around a 5-10 min walk into central. 2 mins from train station not that you need to use it for city stay. Would definitely come back.
We enjoyed our stay in the Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam! It has a good location and is 3 minutes from the tram away. It takes you another 5 minutes to the central station of amsterdam. Just across the hotel there are several bars, cafes and grocery stores. The rooms were not the biggest, but it depends which stars your room has....
