Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
This buildings exterior is truly magnificent. There is no charge to enter and we happily joined the queue, which snaked around the block. An hour later we were in and while it is nice I felt a little disappointed so, if time is tight, forget the queue and admire from the outside like hundreds of other people.
When you first see this magnificent structure you feel a sense of urgency to get to it sooner. At first glance it looks like something out of the movie Inception. I took load of pictures but video was better! There are no words except if your in Florence this is a must see!
"Make sure you reserve a timed entry spot days before your visit"

This was the most memorable thing we did at this site. Do not let the 463 steps deter you from doing this. There are plenty of places to stop and rest along the way up and down. This is worth the climb!
If you did not enter one single building you could still have a wonderful vacation in the historic center of Florence. Walking the streets and plazas is nothing short of walking through an open air museum of Renaissance architecture. In fact make a point to allow time to explore, see where this street goes, what is around the corner from...
This is a beautiful medieval building full of incredible works of art. Michelangelo's Bacchus carved when he was only 22 resides here. Donatello's David is also a must see. Be sure to see the pair of reliefs that Ghiberti and Brunellechi turned in for the competition held in 1401 in the competition to select a sculptor for the baptistery doors....

Stopped here after seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor, and was not disappointed. We had a special sandwich: procuito, provolone, and sun-dried tomato with olive oil and it was perfect to share between to people. The prices are right, and the sandwiches are delicious. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. Check this place out, you won't be...
My friend and I have now eaten here twice on our short trip and we might make a third visit before we leave. The service and food are phenomenal. It’s a very small space, but worth the wait. I was scared this would be a tourist trap, but it’s authentic and delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone.

"Perfect finish to a long, hot day."
reviewed yesterday by Jann W
After a hot and very busy day in Firenze, we enjoyed a great evening at this excellent, casual restaurant. We allowed our delightful hosts, Kathleen and Gino, to suggest food and wine and it could not have been better. Fresh, quality produce direct from the farm was prepared simply and was absolutely delicious. Many thanks for such a fun and...
We stayed in a junior suite, which was well worth the extra. spacious room, bed and huge bath room all meticulously clean. Staff were polite, helpful and any requests were acted upon immediately. Lovely hotel, nice touch was happy ‘hour’ 6.30 - 8 half price drinks at the cosy bar with nibbles and bar snacks. All staff were excellent. I...
Loved the Milu. location can't be beat (and despite its central location, it's very quiet due to the lack of car traffic). Fun, interesting art on all the walls on every floor. Adorable rooftop deck area for drinks and breakfast. Enjoyed it thoroughly and highly recommend it.
Fantastic Hotel very reasonably priced and a phenomenal location just a few blocks from the Ufizzi and Piazza de la Republica
It is part of the Davanzati palace . The hotel starts on the second floor but the staff will help you with luggage. Furnishings are antiques and the walls still have some of the original Frescoes centuries old. Staff...
