Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
We should never forget the horrors inflicted on our fellow humans no matter how long ago it was. This is a sobering memorial if you can call it that charting how people were shipped to the concentration camps and to certain death. I would have liked to have understood what the survivors were saying when they spoke about their ordeal...
This skyscraper is emblematic of Milan's post-war economic boom.
It was built between 1955 and 1960 as the headquarters of Pirelli Industries.
With its heght of 127 metres, it was at that time one of Europe's talles reinforced concrete buildings, displaying a balance between form and structure that has yet to be surpassed.

"Ice cream everywhere but none as good as Terra Gelato"
reviewed 27 February 2020 by Be-Decent
We walked 20 minutes in the rain from Michelangelo Hotel (across from Milan Central Station) to reach TERRA GELATO.
Oh my goodness.... every step of the way was worth it!
TERRA GELATO sells ice cream way better than other ice cream we tasted in Milan.
Sure, there are hundreds of ice cream shops in Milan. Maybe some as good as...
This is just outside the Milano Centrale train station. Family owned since 1937 - three generations. I have had gelato in many places - but this was the best yet! Amply amount and well priced. We loved everything we tried and went back a couple of times. Very friendly people.
"Best Pizza in Milan - so good we didn’t need to go elsewhere!"

By luck walked past this place on the way to our Hotel. With it being late, us weary from a longs day travel, and an enticing looking selection of pizzas being eaten by happy customers as we walked past, we decided to come back directly after checking in.
So glad we did!
Pizza, top notch! Just faultless.
Tasty, amazing choice...
I would definitely recommend this restaurant, we really enjoyed our meal here everything was cooked perfectly! I recommend the black cod and the duck with pancakes as well as the mixed Dimsum for starters. The service was excellent and one of the waiters was super helpful as we were having trouble choosing a rosé wine! I would definitely return.
Stunning rooms, fantastic views from the rooftop bar and very comfortable rooms. They have the largest bathroom and dressing area. Coffee and fresh pastries are located at the coffee bar inside the hotel.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in November 2019. The location is great - within several blocks of Milano Central Train Station and one of the subway stops. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. The continental breakfast which was included in the price was absolutely amazing. There was a great selection of choices that would satisfy...

This hotel was incredible in terms of everything you would want from a hotel... from the facilities, the decor, the friendliness of staff, cleanliness and location I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The hotel was central to everything, after wandering the city of Milan it was lovely to come back to the hotel and unwind in the spa facilities they...
