Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Visiting this place requires planning and advance bookings. Please research online to avoid disappointments. There is always a huge crowd.
One word: AWESOME!!!
The architecture and size and scale is simply breathtaking. And I keep wondering why can't they finish building the church after so many years.
Anyway, it is a MUST-SEE in Barcelona. Words can't describe, just get there...

Very impressive and artistic architecture given the time when it was built.
There is always a crowd there, so plan and research in advance to avoid frustrations and disappointments.
Don't forget to drop by for refreshments and snacks across the street in one of the many eateries. Great food there.

After visiting Casa Batlló, we ended up entering the building next door, as we saw that there was a Café and we were freezing in the cold wind. They say that the Amatller Museum is wonderful, but unfortunately we didn't have time and just stayed at the cafe. I chose a combo, which was a jamon sandwich and hot chocolate...

"Freddie Mercury & Montsy First Met At This Hotel"

Being the fact the Freddie & Montsy first met at this hotel where Freddie stayed, I was in awe. The service were kind and understanding about the reasons I and many others as tourists show up to the hotel, who are not staying there. Wonderful experience.
When we arrived to the hotel, we had to wait for 1 hour for our room, because it was not ready. Because of this we got a free upgrade and got a bigger room with balcony - it was amazing and really good service from the hotel. The room and bathroom was beautiful and clean, and we got a free...
We stayed here for two nights in february and after spending the previous two nights in a nearby hotel which was a bit on the noisy side this was a breath of fresh air.
Check in was straight forward and our room comfy, clean and well furnished. The hotel itself is in a fine location and within 10 minutes walk...
