At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
A large park with a lot of great vegetation. There is a pond in the middle. I visited the park for an evening jogging, and it was just fine. There were many people doing different things like walking, jogging, relaxing, and many of them with their children. I saw a couple of restaurants on duty inside the park.
What a place to visit. It has a real atmosphere. Real gothic place creepy but so interesting. You can stroll along and check out all the famous and not so famous people who are resting there. Little alleyways and books and crannies. Jim Morrisons grave is sad but he cannot be lonely with all the people who have come to...
I visited the park a couple of times for morning jogging. It was nice with gardens, flowers and several stairways. It is sort of sloppy, so that it was good for the exercising. Several people during those hours either relaxing or doing other activities. Great views of the city from top of the park. It was fine for me for...
We heard about this from a friend, who raved about the photos on show. Although we had never heard of Pavillon Carré de Baudouin, we went today and were delighted. It is funded by the City of Paris and entry is free.
Black and white photos really express so much and the photos on show here over multiple floors show...
Friendly English speaking staff. Booked table. All on time. Explained the menu. Very accommodating. Food was amazing. Full of flavour. We ordered jabón, smoked beetroot, crab and spaghetti, peppers and anchovies and purple broccoli. Would recommend.
Stayed in the junior suite with 2 adults and 2 children. The suite was small for four people but fine for the one night we were there. The staff were really helpful and friendly and they send out a map of the area before you arrive which is really helpful (although some of the restaurants marked didn’t seem to be...
Fantastic, for a two star hotel it is just perfect. The price is amazing and breakfast included in your room! Very clean. Convenient for the metro, handy for restaurants and cafes. The staff are delightful.
The location is just fantastic, as you are right in the heart of cool Belleville, with all its great restaurants and bars. The decor and style of the hotel is modern bohemian and fits perfectly in the neighbourhood. Rooms are small, but have all you need. And who is actually spending much time in the hotel room when visiting Paris?...
Very nice family residential area with bars, restaurants, stores and near Metro.
The staff is profesional and nice.
It is a nice big room for Paris.
Having a kitchen
Near great food choices
Plenty of storage.
The building is a combo of guests and residents.
Dirty. The room needed a serious deep cleaning.
We had a 4 night stay here which was great. It had a well equipped kitchenette with everything you need. Great bathroom with shower and heated radiator. Very comfortable room and best of all fantastic view of Pere Lachaise Cemetery from our room. The cemetery entrance is only a couple of minutes away which was great as huge Doors fans...
