This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
The esplanade is located inside Trocadero Park at the top of the fountain. This area is also close to where the museum is.
We didn't go into the museum but did spend a bit of time here taking a few photos of the Eiffel Tower. I could see why this place would give a really nice vantage but it was...
There area a lot of treasures in this museum, which is an overview of the best art from many Asian cultures. It's a bit amazing at how so much has been assembled here. I enjoyed a tour by my friend who is an expert, but you might want to take a tour to get the best of it. And a...
The gardens are really large and are located across the bridge from the Eiffel Tower. Because of this, it has a really nice vantage of the tower.
The best place for the view of the Eiffel Tower is at the esplanade close to the Museum. It is at the top end of the giant Trocadero Fountain in the middle of...
We visited to view the Exhibition of Otto Wagner. Master of Viennese Art Nouveau which was very interesting.
We then stayed to view the Gothic Architecture which was extensive. We then viewed the upper floors which had exhibits of more modern buildings.
The view of the Eiffel Tower from the ground floor is also very good.
This museum of architecture and monumental sculpture is located in the Palais de Chaillot.
We visited the Palais de Chaillot principally to view the Oscar Wagner exhibition but as the ticket also included the Musee de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine which proved very interesting. Large sculptures and parts of building and churches are housed in an amazing space.
"An excellent restaurant discovered in my neigbourhood, certainly meriting its Michelin star."

L'Archeste was an excellent discovery last week. A small, corner restaurant, yet with well-spaced tables and an uncluttered feel to it. A very well-balanced and executed 7 course degustation is one's only option, but a very good one - and one which they were happy to modify to address the needs of our pescatarian diner.
The Japanese chef presents thoughtfully...
From the food to the service our visit to Pop's was great. The welcome was warm and the setting relaxed. We are a family of 5 and it's rare to please all of us but without exception there were smiles all around. The fizzy limoncello was a nice surprise and the chocolate mousse was a real hit.
We will return...
Small, cozy, somehow Scandinavian deco restaurant serving excellent, original fish dishes. The cabillaud with white beans was a blast, the vitello tonato the best ever tried in Paris and the panna cotta simply amazingly delicious. They have an original but good wine choice (also organic). Prices are rather high but value for money is good considering the quality....
Loved it! Amazing suite, great services, polite staff.
It might have been perfect, but the weather ruined the stay for us. That and we were in a hurry. However, I do love the Shangri-la chain, as a rule.
Absolutely loved my stay. An absolute gem of a find - will now only stay there when I am in Paris. The place is stunning. I have friends and family there- they saw the hotel and my room and were blown away...
Just got back from our stay in Paris. The hotel was fine - our room was clean and tidy. The furniture is a little used but the room itself is spotless. There was no musty smell which can be common in hotels I find. The whole place, and our room always smelt fresh and clean. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
Excellent location on 16th arrondissement, cozy rooms newly renovated, good bathroom amenities, parking space inside the premises, perfect size - not too big and with all the comforts. Simple to come in and out. Feel like staying in our own home in Paris.
No complaints. Great value hotel room with a a great location. It is small yet comfortable with rooms that are clean. I had a small room with a double bed. The staff is welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
