Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
Amongst the biggest cemeteries in the city, those who are not put off by walking amidst tombs will find the walk here pleasing, with the grounds holding the graves for quite a few famous people like Andre-Marie Ampere (namesake of the ampere measure unit), Jacques Offenbach (composer), Alexandre Dumas (writer who created the Three Musketeers, whose remains were moved to...
Although this church is far older than Sacre Couer you can understand why it is overshadowed by it's far larger brethren. However, you can really sense the history here and it feels more 'personal'.
And the modern stained-glass windows are absolutely amazing!!

This pretty restaurant is located in the prestigious districts of Paris, it is better to book to obtain a beautiful table, prestigious service, we ate very well, good value for money, delicious and surprising
Amazing little restaurant! The food was amazing and the service was even better. Roland (who is one of the owners), was so personable and courteous, I can’t say enough good things about him. He was great at explaining the menu and was very attentive to our needs and wants.
All the food was great. In particular we loved the Mac...
"Chic, friendly, and very much in line with your fantasies about Paris"

Beautifully decorated and clean room. The interiors have been put together to really cater to those American fantasies of what Paris must be like - with striped wallpaper, thick carpets and curtains and low-key classically designed furniture. It didn't really feel like a hotel, more like your rich Parisian aunt's spare room.
The rooms are not huge (especially if there...
We drew back the curtains flung wide the French Windows and there before us was this amazing view of Paris in the warm sunshine. The Eiffel tower shimmering in the distance and even more impressive at night with the twinkling lights and laser beam.
It is not the idealised view that one would purchase from a 'boite' by the Seine....
"Fabulous hotel in the heart of Montmartre but in a quiet location"

This hotel was renovated during Lockdown and it is modern, fresh and the rooms are very comfortable. It represents great value for money as the rooms are sound proofed and everything is new. It is located in a very quiet side street but close to the Sacre Coeur. The staff are friendly, polite and extremely attentive - they really care...
Really enjoyed our 4-day stay there. The hotel is very nice and clean, staff was great and helpful, nothing to complain about, honestly. Metro is very close, so easy to move into and from every part of the city quickly. Nice boulangerie up the street with great croissants and eclairs (and everything else). Wi-Fi works well enough.
Is somehow life...
What a great hotel. I was treated to a 3 night stay by my wife. She upgraded us to room 53 on the fifth floor. Not only was it a cozy (good size) room it also had a balcony where you could see right across Paris to the Eiffel Tower. An amazing view in both day and night.
