Nosy Mangabe excursion en route to the lodge was a lovely stopover! This is a family of the White-fronted brown lemurs (female on left, male on right and baby tucked into mama's femur/ hip area). This species exhibits sexual dimorphism.
Leaf-tail gecko observed on the trails just around Masoala Forest Lodge.
Nosy Mangabe excursion en route to the lodge was fantastic and affords different wildlife like the Black and white Ruffed lemurs. I loved it so much I went back to the island a 2nd time during my 11 night stay.
The White-fronted brown lemurs are also commonly seen in the primary forest, and I saw them several times on the coastal hike and near the eco-lodge as well. The animals are more shy and wild like they should be compared to other places in Madagascar where they practice feeding and other gimmicky, non-natural forms of attracting lemurs for guest photos and selfies.
The Red-ruffed lemurs are the highlight during excursion to primary forest. I loved them so much I went 3 times and had 8 different sightings seeing 11 different individual RR lemurs, plus tons of other wildlife including the White-fronted brown lemurs.
