We had a really awful experience at this hotel and we would not recommend it to anyone. We had asked for a room with view of the sea and in our first-floor room all we could see was a car park, a road and a fence (see photos attached). I decided that there could be no harm in

Response from Hotel H, Responsable relations clients at Hôtel Eze Hermitage

Dear guest, It is sad to read such a comment. Seeing that we can not attach our surveillance video of your conversation, we can only write the exact and true facts of what happened. First of all, as all hotels have, we also have toilets at the reception area so if you were in a real hurry after the long trip, you could have used them. Our receptionist accompanied you and your husband to your room and after 20 minutes you came back down to ask for a room on the second floor. The manager said he would gladly change it and asked you if anything had been touched. On the audio of the surveillance video you clearly say “NO, I don’t think we touched anything”. The manager explained that the cleaning ladies had already gone home and if the room had been touched he could not rent the room that day. The manager went upstairs to the room and found the sink dirty and the toilet flushed but with stains. He came back down and told you that the bathroom had been used. You then sat down and said with a very sure and determined voice “If you don’t give me a room on the second floor I will put a very bad review on Trip advisor!” The manager smiled and told you “This was not a wise thing to say! You should never threat, it is not a nice thing to do!” The video shows that during the entire conversation never once did the manager raise his voice nor did he repeat. During your stay we were pleased to hear from your husband that you were both having a nice time and you were enjoying yourselves. An advice to all the readers: Threatening is never a positive or useful thing to do. If the hotel has 1 bad review and many very good ones, it is most likely because the guest is being spiteful. Kindest regards Assistant Manager Natalia
