Very nice and friendly people in this museum. This museum is about the life of of Vincent v. Gogh. Very interesting but for me was it a little dissapointing because I hoped for more info about the art of Vincent v. Gogh. Why are those paintings worth so much money? Are there hidden messages in the paintings etc.

The brilliant artist lived in the small town of Nuenen, where Vincent van Gogh's father was a pastor, for just two years, but this was considered to be his most productive period. The museum - located right in the middle of the town opposite the former rectory - does not offer visitors any original paintings, but it does convey the artist's life and work in a variety of ways. Multimedia presentations, films and animations create a captivating atmosphere and provide countless facts. The many exhibits from his time, such as painting utensils, but also everyday items such as clothing and furniture, clearly show why van Gogh's talent found plenty of inspiration here. The rural simplicity and harshness of peasant life fascinated the artist so much that some of his most expressive works were created here. A great museum that brings visitors very close to this enigmatic and brilliant person.

Not everyone can visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam; Lack of time, or large crowd. So, go through Nuenen (around ten kilometers from Eindhoven) where Van Gogh spent a good part of his life and where you can see certain sites or landscapes painted by Van Gogh. Take a guide for fear of forgetting certain models, that would be a shame because it is easy to perceive work and reality. The guides have reproductions of the different paintings. The museum does not have real paintings, but the shop is nice, the scenes are all explained. I learned many anecdotes, with a guide who tried to speak in French.

This museum is such a gem! We took our (German) relatives here and had a great time. The village is beautiful and the museum itself very interesting. It makes great use of interactive elements, film and the building itself to explore. Audio guides are available in many languages. We went on a Saturday and it wasn't overly busy either, a very relaxed atmosphere. We now know much more about the person Vincent van Gogh and his love for the local countryside. Will appreciate his style and work even more from now on.

This museum deals with the person of gogh, and not specifically the masterpieces. One detailed picture of what he was like in his time in brabant, and how he came to his choices. A refreshing walk through the life of a painter, without just getting paintings! Very interactive too!

I was very impressed with this museum. There is an entry fee. They have audio tour devices in many languages. They operate by holding near a QR code on each artwork. You then hear a description of what is being presented. In addition, to the Van Gogh items there are some other artists works also. Many interactive displays and much information in a small space. There is a snack area and restrooms. There is a gift shop. It is housed on multiple floors. I think there is an elevator but not sure it is for guests.
