It’s nice but it’s so expensive! It’s just something that you’d like to try if you’ve never been. It’s like a one time thing for us. We paid $102 each adult and $71 for each kids. We went on a weekend and the line was long, expected. When you get to the top peak, there’s a food area and that also was an expensive meal as well. We did enjoy the views during the ride and up the top.

I have taken the Gondola up the mountain to ski for the past few years. I bought a ticket for a friend to come and experience it for the first time. He loves the ride and the awesome view on the top. It takes about 15 minutes to get up to the Observation deck. Then another few minutes to get to Tamarack Lodge, the basecamp area for the skiers. The service offered by Heavenly is always great! We would recommend the ride to anyone who is visiting the area. It is probably the best view of Lake Tahoe!

We had never done this before and ended up doing it twice. Unbelievable views on the whole ride. If you just stay on gondola it takes 40 minutes but don’t miss stop on top of mountain with viewing deck. Talk to person on duty as they have great information. Second stop on other side of mountain is much warmer and a wide variety of things to do for both adults and children. You can also grab something to eat at the restaurant (cafeteria style). If you are afraid of heights this is not for you.

I don't think the Gondola at Heavenly gets enough hype for what an incredible experience it is! The views are phenomenal! However, if you are even a little afraid of heights- avoid this! As it is a bit scary even for someone who has been on gondolas before! There are two enclosed rides in the gondola, and then an optional open-air ski-lift at the end. That one was truly scary because it got very windy that high up! But the views are even better from up there! On the second gondola stop- there's a lot of things to do and a nice lodge with plenty of good options to eat. So definitely give yourself at least 2 hours to enjoy this. It is a fairly long ride up and down (about 15 mins each way). It can get a bit hot in the enclosed gondola.

Hubby & I were in Tahoe for 3 days and this came highly recommended from friends/colleagues, so we did it. Both the cable car & the open ski lift--relaxing great rides. All operators were exceptionally friendly/cool (but, that's Tahoe!). We did a tiny hike around to the lookout point at tippity top, too. Highly recommend that, great photo opp. We had beautiful clear day. I say, add this touristy activity to your itinerary!

We loved our trip on the gondola and ski lift to the summit and thought it was well worth what it cost. I saw a lot of reviews saying it was too expensive but we were so impressed with the experience and recognize how expensive it is to run and maintain a property like this. We also thought all the staff we interacted with (which was several people) were extremely friendly and really seemed to enjoy their jobs—- contrary to other comments. The views were absolutely spectacular and we enjoyed the lodge area with all the activities even though we didn’t participate in any of them.

This experience is really hard to put into words! To be 10,000 ft up and have a view of Lake Tahoe on the left and on the right, the valley (Carson City area) with a mountain range separating them is indescribable. It’s just amazing! Pictures don’t do it justice. The only thing I can compare it to is overlooking the Grand Canyon. I had a Bloody Mary at the bar in the lodge area $22 with the tip. Tip: Once you get off the gondola at the top look for the Tamarack lift. This is a free open air lift that takes you up further. One negative is the food and drinks at the bar and concession area have no pricing on it or anywhere to be seen. Kind of “scammish” in my opinion.
