Skiing at Hahnenkamm and the Kitzbühler Horn, Kitzbühl's two primary ski areas, is the thing to do during the town's winter season. Boasting more than 60 lifts, Kitzbühl has slopes for everyone from beginners to professionals, who gather annually at Die Strief for the skiing World Cup.

The northern French town of Bayeux is best known for the eponymous tapestry that depicts the 11th-century Norman Conquest. You can see it, of course, on display at the Bayeux Tapestry Museum. The medieval city of Norrkoping is nicknamed “The Manchester of Sweden” because of its historical role in the paper and textile industries. Those industries were powered by the Motala river, which runs through the city. Visit the Himmelstalundsvägen to see ancient rock carvings that date to the Nordic Bronze Age, or explore the Industrial Landscape to get an understanding of what shaped modern day Norrkoping.

The shining jewel of Qatar, Doha is a multicultural city, home to most of the country's population as well as expatriate communities from a range of origins. Shopping abounds in the city's plentiful malls, while the Corniche impresses visitors with picturesque architecture and dazzling views of the harbour.
