EVERY Saturday 7am - 1pm & the last Sunday of each month 8am-1pm. Upon a hill in the Shongweni Valley, KZN overlooking the majestic Kirk Falls sits The Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market. Just a short drive from Durban, meandering through the picturesque cane fields bright and early you will find a buzz of activity. Our local traders sell everything from fresh produce, deli, food, crafts & art. The market has an ambience like no other, which is complimented by the local talented musicians who perform every week. The market is a safe space for the whole family to enjoy & spend time together (pets included!), kids can run free & also take part in some of the activities such as The Shongweni Express Train rides, ZippyKids, merry-go-rounds & jungle gyms. Adults are also welcome to join us in The Standing Room in the main hall where we serve our very own craft beer and gin. We are open rain or shine as we are all undercover and we are fully wheelchair accessible.

Established in 2009 (as Porcupine Quill Brewing Company), the brewery forms part of 1000 Hills Chef School where Advanced Students learn the art of Craft Beer Brewing. This brings a unique approach to brewing – with flavour and food in mind. In true craft tradition, we prefer not to follow any particular style too closely but rather experiment with our own styles. Most of our beers follow a pale ale style. This particular style covers a range of flavours and appearances and suits how we brew our beers.

We are an educational animal farm where the kids get to learn about our animals while they have fun interacting with them. We also have a lovely little tea garden with a small but yummy menu - and there is fresh cake baked in our kitchen on the weekends.
