This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We stayed in the Mountain Lodge which has 5 chalets and all brand newly done with the most amazing attention to detail. Decor and design are on par with current contemporary trends and such a pleasure to stay in a place that has thought of everything. The staff are very attentive with it being a family owned lodge and it was lovely to meet the owners and to learn more about their plans.
This is honestly a hotel to recommend as only 2 hours from Windhoek so the perfect stop over when heading back to Windhoek from Etosha or for a romantic get away week-end if living in South Africa or neighbouring countries. For us it was the perfect last night following just the most fabulous two week trip around beautiful Namibia.
The food is excellent and dinners are 4 courses with great a great wine list. We are so pleased to have discovered this lodge as it was recommended by our agent and one we will definitely be visiting again. Next time we will stay for longer so we can enjoy the game viewing. Thank you again to everyone who gave us such a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Nest, the service was excellent. The wildlife experience was awesome.
However, we recommend that they buy quality water glasses because the ones in the nest break whilst doing dishes and it is unacceptable to pay N$50 for a water glass that costs less than N$10.

We have been overloading for over 2500km across Namibia and have stayed at many campsites and lodges. We were overwhelmed at how reasonable the camping was and how nicely shaded our spot was with a sink and everything which has been quite uncommon to have at your campsite. The food was incredible and well priced. It was hands down the best we had at any other lodge we had been to. Our waiters were kind and attentive and we truly felt welcome.
Keep up the incredible work. This place is a true gem.

We arrived and was welcomed by very friendly and efficient staff. Pool was nice and clean. The braai wood I can definitely recommend. The Campsites are excellent. Was a bit noisy with some loud music going on New years day. But at least not too early. (Again tour groups that don't think and has got no consideration for other users). The location is also stunning right by a little dam where we saw some animals coming to drink. Overall a great place. Ablutions is adequate. Great outdoorsy shower.

1. The menu was monotonous and boring. 2. The wifi service was weak and we couldn't use it in the sleeping rooms. 3. The TV was off because the lodge management apparently didn't pay the service provider (we only find out when we enquired - we were not told at the time of checking in). 4. The toilet paper was in short supply. 5. Other than the above drawbacks, our stay was pleasant.

We were greeted very friendly by lots of lovely young ladies, even with a welcome drink....a very pleasent gesture! Campsite 1 was very big, shady and near to the toilets/showers....
The walk to the main lodge is very near and the pool and bar vey inviting. We loved it there.
Unfortunatly it rained nearly all night and as we were abit worried about crossing the dam due to the very very muddy path, we asked the ranger ( we didnt get his name but a very friendly man) who even accompanied us over the dam incase we got into trouble!
A wonderful experience at a wonderful lodge with wonderful people!
Thank you for making our stay so good.

I was expecting a very crowded place due to the number of rooms available and the site is actually well designed and diner settings split into three parts which gives a lovely atmosphere. Room are super clean and food is good and diverse. The lodge is very close to the entrance of Etosha so it's really easy to get there for a day visit or just a few hours. Overall a very good well located option.

We have been travelling the world for the last 15 years and have stayed in some incredible places. We both agreed that the Otjiwa Mountain Lodge is at the top our list. It really is that good.
Our welcome from the owners was helpful, friendly and informative.
The Lodge is ideally located a couple of hours north of Windhoek about 7km off the main B1 route.
The main lodge is quite small but beautifully put together, it needs to be no bigger as it is only serving 4 or 5 individual suites. It provides for a reception, dining area, and very comfortable lounge. Many of the original hunting lodge features and furnishings have been upgraded and retained.
From here there is access to a pool and sitting area. In the evening a fire basket is lit which is atmospheric but the smoke blew into the dining room, which was unpleasant to breathe and we and our clothes bear testament to it! It's so minor really.
Our suite was wonderful. So much care and attention has gone into the development. We cannot fault it in any way. Luxurious, clean, contemporary and traditional at the same time, lovely bathroom, good wifi, a/c although it struggled to cope with 40c outside. All usual amenities.
Overall we cannot praise the Lodge highly enough. Treat yourself and stay here! Nothing is too much trouble, staff and management working hard in the same direction.
We loved it here.

The Safari Lodge is divided into various lodges. We had the honor of staying at the mountain lodge, unfortunately for only one night and I must say that it is one of the most beautiful and well-kept ones I have found in all my various trips.
Very sweet and discreet staff. Huge rooms, with spectacular and endless views, furnished in colonial style, but with an incredible wealth of details both in the furnishings, in the objects, in the cutlery and even in the taps, rare to find arranged with such taste and never cheap or tacky: huge compliments to the decorator. I was even afraid of ruining something and tried not to leave any trace of my passage. What can I say, the room, the terrace, the swimming pool in the room were so beautiful that we decided to spend a relaxing afternoon after the many kilometers covered. Free and well-stocked minibar. Excellent price/quality.
Ate very well.
Worthy and much better than many 5 star hotels where I have stayed.
Well done, you made us happy and I would have liked to stay a week.

My husband and I were travelling Namibia in a camper van for 16 days and decided to book this for 2 nights in the middle of our travels. We were not disappointed, had a lovely room, comfortable with tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge. The shower room was gorgeous and very modern. Our room overlooked a water hole and watching the wild life right in front of us was a treat to remember. The insect noises at night time was beautiful. We opted for the breakfast and evening meal package with our room, both meals each day were lovely and thoroughly enjoyed them BUT if your fussy on your evening meals then the menu is one starter and one dessert for everyone and the choice of main is between two. So i would say its a set menu which we didn't mind as we enjoyed both nights meals. There is a vegetarian choice as I heard someone on another table ordering. I had a pamper morning, full neck and back massage booked as well as a full manicure and pedicure whilst hubby went on a bush walk. We did have an evening safari drive booked but the heavens opened and we all got very wet so we came back 10minutes after our set off, luck we did as the rain didnt stop for a while and the water hole in front of our room filled very quickly. The lounge area at reception is very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The pool area is lovely as the wild life wonder very close for you to watch. We had a pizza around the pool area one lunch time and that was very well prepared and yummie. Would highly recommend staying here, I saw whils there they did self catering chalets too.

Hi, yes the entrance is right on the main road and not far to the lodge once you enter the gate. I'm not aware of a shuttle service, however I would e-mail them and ask if they could be of assistance. It is really a lovely place to overnight. Enjoy your stay.
No not all the rooms have hairdryers, but majority of times, you can borrow a hairdryer at Reception.
Therefore you don’t need to bring yours.
Jana no - its too far! From Otjivarongo to the Botswana border at Ngoma Gate is already about 1 000 km! Then you have to drive south to Muchenje Safari Lodge. No way sorry!
I suggest you stay over at Rundu or Katima Mulilo- should be brave enough to make it to Katima in one day.
Sien my fotos! Hout word verskaf by die vuurmaak area. Voels hou jou besig want hulle soek brood! So ook ander diere wat deur die kampplek beweeg snags bv. Pumbas. Lieflike lodge!
