Having stayed in many Riu Hotels around the world this will probably be my last. The place is in dire need of a refurbishment, rooms are very tired, jacuzzi shown online is a circular unit on the terrace of your room, in reality it's an antique bathtub from the Ark that doesn't work, if you need a shower I suggest waiting for the rain as it will have a higher water pressure, considering the high level of English speakers here, I couldn't get an answer as to why there are no English speaking TV channels everything being dubbed into Spanish. Good points. The staff are fantastic and work incredibly hard, the room service although very limited is excellent. No I'm not an old moaner, but when paying platinum prices, one doesn't want to receive aluminium, I've stayed in 2 star Indian hotels and believe me, they are rough lol. I went with my wife at the beginning of March. The place was fantastic. We had the jacuzzi suite on the balcony on the top floor, and it was worth it. Such a romantic way to spend an evening in a hot tub right there by the ocean. The view was great. The staff was all friendly, helpful, and responsive. The entire place was clean, and I had no worries about Covid. The staff all wore masks and guests almost always did as well. The food was great. A large breakfast variety, a good lunch, and great dinner choices. The Mexican restaurant was fantastic, and the beef tenderloins were very good. The pool was fantastic and staff in masks outdoors was always bringing us margaritas or pina coladas. Then you could go down to the beach and the sand was perfect. And during Covid, the place was not full, so this goes down as one of my favorite relaxing trips. I recommend this place for sure.…
Everything was great and we love it, except of Japanese restaurant. We assumed they already educated about the style of Japanese. Menu was same foods you could find in buffet. We ordered food and it took 1 hour to serve. We gave up and came back to buffet to have our dinner. The other think I should add is the bed sheets some times had some stain. I was sure they are clean but still you could see some left over stain, which is not really nice for a such a nice hotel like Riu Palace.
The Hotel staff was awesome. The food was really good. The only downfall for the hotel were the activities for children. The kids area, well there was barely a kids area, had a tiny pool and tiny playset. As an adult I really enjoyed the stay and entertainment. Unfortunately, as a family with children I would choose a different hotel.
...because of this place. It is clean, the people are friendly and the views are breathtaking. It is ideally located to walk to Bucerias, which is a little town area with a few restaurants and then a short taxi ride to the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta. We took this trip clear back in 2017 and before covid so unsure what it is like now but of the 5 trips we have made to various parts of Mexico, this place was the nicest.
We spent 2 weeks at Riu Palace Pacifico from June 1st 2022 and our holiday was a mixture of both good and bad! GOOD...Food in the First week..Good choice...well cooked and freshly made BAD...Food in the Second week... Poor choice, over cooked and melting ice cream every day. I was ill for 2 days from what I believe to be the lamb. Good...Room was large and spacious and clean (though our sheets were changed only once in 2 weeks) only after we requested they be changed! BAD.... Jacuzzi is not white and Round like advertised in the online pictures...instead Its a 10 year old small brown rectangular bath that spews out a few bubbles...Our Jacuzzi didn't work when we arrived and it took them 2 days to fix it. I cut my finger trying to pull the faucet from the wall to get it to work. They offered us a late check out as compensation for the Jacuzzi not working... I personally advised the guest relations manager (Jessica) we would be leaving our room on check out day at 2pm and she assured me she would make sure reception are aware of this. At 1pm on check out day they called our room and ordered us out of the room saying we would be charged is we spent any longer in the room. We had to throw our belongings into our cases and evacuate the room immediately. Guest relations manager (Jessica) whom I personally spoke to about our late check out, then denied we had the conversation in front of her boss (Abigail) the assistant hotel manager. This infuriated us! My partner had a birthday and we requested some fruit and a cake etc in out room when we booked the trip in back in January 2022, but on arrival the reception staff had no notification of our request. They said they would arrange for a cake and fruit etc to be delivered to our room by 2pm the next day...but the next day nothing arrived at our room... Good ...The Entertainment team were all great! They looked after everyone and did all they could to keep everyone occupied and happy. Top marks for them...Especially Pablo!! Overall we enjoyed some of our holiday but it was spoiled by the above, especially the guest relations manager and her dishonesty. We won't be returning!…
Trust me. Stay here and you will not regret one thing. The food was amazing, friendly staff, drinks were awesome. Zero flaws here. I’m your are looking for a relaxing get away from your home and work, this is the place to go.
We stayed here from 1st to 15th June….I have to say Bar and Restaurant staff are Excellent…..Food I have to say is Average sometimes poor…As in Luke warm and some what Bland….Breakfast was fine iff you like fried egg on Toast as that is Hot but have to wait…..But my main Gripe is yes I smoke….Disgusting habit I know….A bit of Ash was found on the Balcony which was on the the third day of staying…..We left tip on Pillow every morning…But the Maid decided to snitch….So was fined 1000 Pesos 1st warning £40…..But as you enter room there are no signs until you look on the very dark aged surfaces of furniture I never noticed it….Very poor signage….So I thought I’d pay the pay fine when we check out but no we had 5 phone callls to ask are we coming to desk….Which we found was harassing or as iff we were to do a runner or something which we found pathetic so that’s why we made them wait…..So smokers don’t leave evidence on the Baclony……Oh and an another thing The Do Not Disturb signs dont work from the mini bar service quick knock and in he barged!!….Will never use RUI again!!!…
The hotel was really great, food was plentiful and staff really hardworking. It is in a great location and the breeze from the sea is very much needed. Never had an issue getting a sun bed and it never felt to crowded. On aside note, we went with TUI and booked some trips with there rep. Unfortunately one of the trips was massively overbooked and we all got sent back to the hotel. We were told that we would get a full refund, but over a month on, still nothing from TUI. I am still over £500 out of pocket. I recommend booking your trips with the company located next to the pool.
Good staff excellent food very clean lovely beach and easy to get around everyone helpful fridge always stocked so ready when you want a drink beds by pool plentiful staff around pool always taking orders for drinks beds in pool cleaned daily loved it
