What a beautiful Stay and Such an amazing package! It's very uncommon to have hosts that care that much about you. The rooms are clean and everything you want to gets arranged for you. Especially Haydar cares so much about you and tries to Do everything that you feel a 100% good. When you arrive there it feels like Meeting friends. But the best of all is the Private Whalesharktour! Seeing and snorkeling with this beautiful Animal was one of the best experiences in my life.
| The Short | We stayed for 4 nights and did their special deal ($225 per person). The hotel was nice and clean and well looked after. Food is good but provided by the local restaurant and can sometimes be on the cold side, especially breakfast. However, professionalism and communication of the staff was extremely poor. | The Long | We stayed here for four nights and did their 4 night package for $225 per person. Which included breakfast and dinner as well as 3 trips. A whale shark snorkeling, dolphin watching and a visit to the nearby deserted island. They also include a shark feeding at the local resort island but this is a free activity and anyone can attend. Just catch the boat over after 6pm it's free to walk around the resort and get back. What really let this place down was the professionalism and communication from the staff member. There were multiple times we would ask what we were doing or what would happen on a trip to which he would reply "I don't know". He has worked there for over 3 years and not to know anything about their packages or trips they were running is crazy. He wasn't even sure what the package was despite it being on the website. We constantly had to ask the staff member what was happening with our trips and there wasn't any structure to them. If you wanted information you had to ask for it. They offer a refund on your public ferry tickets for this deal but again the staff member knew nothing about it when coming to paying. Equally, the staff member was too busy playing PUBG on his mobile that he wasn't interested in keeping us up to date with what was happening. He was happy to sit there on the sofa playing the game at full volume whether you were eating dinner or trying to go to sleep. On one occasion we asked him a question but he was too engrossed by his phone to answer. Breakfast and Dinner were pleasant as they are provided by the local restaurant. They can arrived a little cold but you can eat at the restaurant if this a problem. The food from the local restaurant is tasty and filling. Grilled fish is especially good. The trips themselves were a little unorganised. We were told the night before our whale shark snorkeling trip that snorkeling equipment wasn't included. After a short discussion with the manager we were given equipment that had been left behind by other guests. On one occasion we were unsure if the trip was going ahead, as the night before they weren't sure if they could find a boat to take us. The hotel itself is well looked after and the rooms are nice and spacious. They are also well equipped with a fridge, AC, a safe, kettle and tea and coffee. However, as the staff member was too preoccupied we always had to ask for the water that we were provided free each day. The room was never offered to be cleaned either which although, not a massive deal, after 4 days the bins are full and the floor is sandy. It is the small touches that make places. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. The property was pleasant and the food from the restaurant was nice. However, the customer service here was average at best.…
We stayed at the Whale Shark for two nights after completing our Liveaboard cruise and waiting for a flight back to Male. The inn is small and cozy with four rooms and a courtyard for dining. It’s a five minute walk to the guest beach and close to the local shops on the island. There isn't much to do on Maamigili so we went to Holiday Island for a beer on the beach and dinner (after 6:00 pm there’s no charge to transfer to the resort, $25 during the day). For the price, we were happy with the guest house. It gives you a true flavor of life in the Maldives away from the resorts.
I have rarely felt so well taken care of that the Whale Shark Inn will always stick out in my mind forever. Hayder was amazing. He made us feet so welcome and made sure all our questions and needs were taken care of. He walked us to excursions and was there to get us. He picked up our delicious breakfast and even got some local spicy peppers because I mentioned I wanted to try them. Even with other guests at the Inn we felt such a personal touch. It was truly appreciated! Nafiz handled our arrangements off the island and other financials and explained every charge to make sure everything was correct. He also was able to get us a much better deal traveling to another atoll. This place knows how to do business! Thank you so much for our stay! Deserves 10 stars
We spent 9 nights with our family at Whale Shark Inn. Highly recommended and affordable for our family. We felt safe and comfortable. Everything clean and organised for us- so easy. Meals easy and all our needs accommodated. We did trips most days and saw 6 Whale Sharks first trip and 3 the second. Also saw turtles, dolphins and mantaray. Wonderful family adventure and very grateful - thank you.
