Being in a privileged location, this hotel offers its guests a handy connection to Chile's three main ski centers, which together cover the largest ski area in South America. Posada de Farellones hotel has a marked Swiss style, where wood and stone are mixed to create a lively, cozy atmosphere. Our gastronomy, which is our most defining feature, is of superb quality and much attention to detail is paid. Ski Centres & First Chile Ski Lodge These are the most important places to ski in Chile and larger than Argentina ski resorts. Farellones ski resort is the smallest in the area, capable and excellent chance for a beginner family ski trip with ski school teachers and tubing park. Here, skiers will be able to enjoy the majestic view of sky-scraping mountains surrounding the hotel, the most modern ski lifts available in the country and excellent ski tracks, ideal for all kinds of skiers. You can enjoy skiing in Chile, from June to October for an unforgettable family ski trip. La Parva is a part of Three Valleys of Chile, together with Valle Nevado and El Colorado ski center. La Parva quickly rises to 3.630 Meters (11.910 Feet), and steep climbs it offers easy access to areas out of track much like The Chimney, with deep gorges, and cornices. Also it provides a clear opportunity to photograph from the top of the mountains of world class and a passage without equal like Cerro La Parva and La Falsa Parva. You may plan a day skiing trip from the Colorado ski resort. This ski center as La Parva has the advantage to cross in to Valle Nevado by means of the ski lifts that rise to the summits. The east face this one of the cone of The Colorado (local name El Cono Este), in general has the best snow since product of strong winds they accumulate big snow quantities here; the best skiing heavens powder in South America. Top range skiing trip without a helicopter also is available in Santa Teresita, well known for the expert riders getting from Colorado Ski resort and skiing down the virgin area to the main road of Valle Nevado where a van will met our clients. Covered with Valle Nevado, it has 25.000 Hectares, and light snow is famous for experimented skiers, along places with phenomenal sight of the Mountain range of the Chilean Andes. This complex offers us amazing places to ski, marked trails, excellent off piste and fantastic conference in the shade of the Andean Condor that often they fly over us. Here, you can go so highly as 3.670 Meters (12.400 Feet) on the sea level. If you look in your family trip to Chile for the possibility of flying and ski, Valle Nevado also offers Heli ski in the nearby peaks with amazing skiing areas full of fresh powder.

I stayed at the Hotel Posada de Farellones this year for the third time. The Posada is located near 3 Chilean ski resorts. This is a very comfortable ski lodge and I love staying there. The food this year was very good -- cooked by Swiss-trained chefs and very European. The accomodations are clean and comfortable, not fancy. The staff provides excellent service and works to accomodate your needs more than any place I've stayed in. The new hot tub is a pleasure after a day on the slopes.

This is a very charming hotel with great service. Food every night was wonderful, and the hotel had an excellent wine list. They would transport guests each morning to La Parva or El Colorado. Each morning, they would set out our ski boots; at the end of the day, they would set out our street shoes and store our gear. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My only complaint is the hotel is quite pricey; however, it probably is the best option in Farellones. I would stay there again.

Excellent place to stay, much preferred over the fancy hotels at Valle Nevado. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice view, meals were outstanding, staff super nice and helpful. The living room area was also comfortable, with a fire always in the woodstove, nice to relax with a glass of wine after skiing. Shuttle to La Parva and El Colorado was terrific, we preferred skiing these to Valle Nevado - way better skiing in our opinion. Highly recommend to those who prefer a bed and breakfast over hotels.

Three wonderful says skiing in the Andes. Warm, comfortable lodging with friendly staff and good food. Enjoyed the hot tub and the hot showers. Easy in and out thanks to local transportation. A couple of breakfast suggestions: would provide jam for toast, cold milk for cereal, and granola for yogurt. Hard boiled eggs and a little bacon or fried ham would be nice too.

I spent 5 nights ( Sept. 1 - 5, 2011) at Posada Farellones with 4 of my friends for my 50th birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and the amazing food ! The location is one of best to access the Tres Valles. They took our boots after each day of boarding and dried them and returned them each morning!! I would defiantly stay here again.

We stayed 6 days there in the last week of July 2011 , me, my wife and our 3 boys - 16, 15 and 12 years old. And it was very good.
We scheduled the hotel - fortunately - in the beginning of April. I have heard that just after, all the hotels in El Colorado area were completely booked. So, if you intend to go there, specially in July, it is a good advice to book early.
All the contacts with the reservation team were easy and nice. Everything just happened as we set - the transfer from Santiago, the stop we made in the ski shop to rent equipment, the bedroom.
The hotel is small with just one floor and has about 10 bedrooms. We stayed in a large one since we were 5 people and did not use all the 7 beds inside. One thing we think it should be improved is that there is only one bathroom for all this people. With 5 people it was on the limit, with 7 it would be harder. But it was a very clean, clear and specially hot bedroom, which is very important up there !
The hotel has a hot large jacuzzi that we used every day after skiing and it was very relaxing.
Breakfast was just ok, could be better. Do not expect scrambled eggs, etc. The breakfast standard did not meet the dinner standard.
The dinner is included in the reservation and it was served every night at 8 pm. It is important since there is not restaurants opened at night up there.
The food is very good, quite surprising. It is only one menu for everybody, that changes every night. Prepared by a chef, they serve pasta, fish, soups. For kids it can be ordered simpler foods, just before you go out for ski in the morning. The restaurant is open for non-guests for lunch, but only for guests in dinner.
Before dinner you can also stay in a very nice room with a lot of sofas and 2 fireplaces.
There is a transfer everyday to El Colorado, La Parva and Farellones. You can go at 9 or 10 am. The van takes you back at 4h45 pm from el Colorado (we went there everyday).
The people up there is very nice - we found people speaking french, english and portuguese. But sometimes they were a little bit confused.
When we arrived they said our bedroom was not ready. As our kids wanted to go skiing, they suggested that we change our clothes in a little bathroom. But we had to open our luggage in the reception area of the hotel, in front of everybody that were going to the restaurant. And there was a room for guests (mentioned above) that we could use, that they did not offered us. Just after we changed, they told us the room was ok ! The same thing happened when we came back in the last day. We had to open our luggage to change our ski clothes to normal clothes in the reception area. This I think should be improved.
Besides this, it is a very good hotel, the children loved it, and we certainly would come back. Even if it is a little pricely, I think it is the hotel that has the better cost-benefit relationship in that area.

The owner is a multiple generation lodge owner and aims to please. He is happy to drive your group to the slopes, pick you up, store your gear, dry your boots, and warm you with treats. It was a perfect family lodge experience. The kids loved the hot tub as well as the ambiance of the great room. It's quaint with a large fireplace burning all evening. Dinner had a taste for everyone, including a great bar. If you're looking for a small lodge experience, this is the place for you.

If you are looking a small, cozy hotel, in the middle of the mountains and the snow, Posada Farellones is the place for you! The service is exquisite! You feel unique and at home! The owner meets and greets his guests himself, and drives them to the turistic places with his van at no charges. At the end of the day, the hot jaccuzzi tub offered by the hotel is a must! So relaxing and nice! This is a nice, small rustic place for people who want a change from the big city life!

This hotel was built when skiing was first introduced to Farellones and el Colorado. The current owner/manager, Pau Padros, lovingly keeps the hotel up to date. Such details as attending to storage of skis and boots by an attentive staff add to the total experience. Many of the staff are fluent in English and Portuguese. Evening meals are creative with a great variety from day to day but have a fixed menu. Breakfast is a buffet with eggs, cold meats, cheeses, rolls, pastries, juice, fresh fruit, etc. Transportation is available to and from the mountains if you do not choose to use your own vehicle. Transportation can be arranged from the airport or anywhere in Santiago to and from the hotel.
