What a perfect, peaceful and remote location! This lodge has only 4 “glamcamping’ rooms, each of which has the double bed, fly nets, air fan (not air con) and built in shower and toilet. There is also a central building for the main lodge area, which is built into a Jackalberry tree over 3 levels, this has the dining area and 2 viewing and seating platforms and a small bar. It is not easy to find,,,,a good 20 km over dust roads with random signing, so get the satellite coordinates and make sure it all works in advance. Once here the food is very good (set menu with no choices each day, you can adjust to allergies and limited preferences) served 3 times daily. Game drives, river drives and night drives all possible and offered by the lodge. All rooms are clean but being tents heat up a LOT during the day, so make sure you leave them to be aired, at night they call off quickly however. This place is ideal for those wanting to be off of the beaten track….

Want to be close to nature? Not afraid to drive a challenging (4x4 ) road? Perhaps this tented lodge is up your alley. It definitely is in the middels of nowhere in between Namibia and Botswana. Only four tented lodges gives you the feeling of having the place to yourself. Sweet people, nice food however it lacked finesse and felt clumsy occasionally. The entire spot deserves an update.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. I think it is the only accommodation inside the park and there is no fence, so the lodge is open to all the wildlife. Due to some confusion, we arrived unexpected and we were the only guests (there are only 4 tents), but they really went out of their way to accommodate us and even served a delicious dinner. The tents are spacious and very comfortable. There is no electricity, hot water comes from the solar panels. The hot water bottle at night was a very welcome touch. There is a great viewing deck, swimming pool and dining area, cleverly built all around the Jackalberry Tree. Everything happens outdoors. The activities are a bit on the expensive side, but especially the sunset cruise was worth every cent. We loved every minute of it. Our guide was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would love to go back some time.

During my holidays in Nkasa Lupala NP i could visit this incredible lodge situated in a land of beauty. The 4 only beautiful tents are big and well furnished, equipped and decorated. The Italian manager Giorgio is very knowledgeable about wildlife and Namibia and kind person. No one here will come to disturb you, may be wildlife just there for your great pleasure (as elephants but also many birds). Botswana is just near by on the other bank of the river. Food not tested but as per an Italian manage place it shall be very good.

If you want to experience Botswana game but not pay Botswana prices, come to Jackalberry Camp. This small camp is open to animals walking through the camp at night. We heard elephants rumbling and trumpeting, hippos grunting, and lions roaring. This is so rare in most camps that just to experience the night sounds makes the visit worth it. There's a large plain in front of the camp which provides a constant show of elephants, hippos, and various antelopes grazing. The water and land game drives are excellent. You can also cool off in the small clean pool they have onsite. The tents are well equipped and comfortable. The only thing I would change is to improve the food quality. The food at their sister property Nkasa Lupala was so much better. However, the game was not. (This is probably because of the time of year we visited.) I highly recommend this camp.

First the location - you drive 27 km down tracks with some soft sinky sand patches into the park (you need a 4X4 or you can be collected). The camp is at the end of a long island surrounded by wetlands which flood in the rains. It is really remote. Animals are free to roam around the camp as evidenced by the elephant droppings outside your tent and lions roaring at night. Accommodation is 4 tents and the canvas lodge is constructed around a large tree. The lodge gives great viewing of the surrounding marsh. There are always animal and bird life on view including migrating elephants, buffalo, hippo, lots of antelope and warthogs galore. Stephanie, the manager, makes a great hostess and meals with her and our fellow guests were a treat. It was a pleasure to be taken on game drives and a river cruise by Robson who was an great guide. He found us a lot of game and the drives were an education. This is only a small camp in the bush and is powered by solar panels. It is not luxury hotel (but very comfortable) and in my my view it is better for that. The food was great and the staff were friendly and tried hard.

We spent two nights here. We loved the remote location and friendly atmosphere. Lovely to have communal dining. Stephanie and the staff are excellent and made our stay very comfortable and memorable. The food is excellent with generous portions. The river trips are sublime. Lots of birds, hippos and elephants to see along with any other animals coming to the river. We left our hire car in Sangwali. A good option as the tracks to the camp can be hard to navigate and not as per GPS. We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend the camp and the area.

A long hot drive, with the final section in the park having patches of deep sand & being barely sign-posted, so was even slower than we'd expected. In retrospect we should perhaps have accepted the pick-up option, but we arrived safely for our 3 night stay. We had 2 wonderful days although it was very dry: morning game drives & late afternoon cruises on the river (very shallow water, but plenty of bird life as well as hippo & elephant) framed sessions of watching a succession of animal life wandering across in front of the camp. The wind was normally too strong to allow the rain clouds to build, although we enjoyed a couple of brief showers, while one lunchtime a sudden sand storm moved the remains of our salads onto the floodplain & we were relocated to the (relative) calm of the bar area while the staff struggled to close all of the awnings. Delightful staff, accommodation on a par with anything we've enjoyed elsewhere on safari & excellent food.
