I recently spent a week at On Golden Pond Guesthouse. The hosts are lovely, and the location could not have been better. It is situated right on the river, so birds awaken you each morning. The site is treed and quite an oasis in the midst of the city. It is an easy and safe work to the university, so it is lovely location for those working on campus.
Breakfast is provided in a lovely open dining area, so there is a potential for community to be formed amongst the guests and the hosts. The garden is delightful, with nice seating under the trees.

We stayed for four nights during a national sporting event my daughter participated in. We stayed in the family unit (Woodpecker). The guesthouse is conveniently located close to the university with secure, covered parking on arrangement. Gerda is a friendly and warm host. The house is situated in an amazing garden and it feels as if you are staying in a secluded forest. The room is spacious and clean with a huge bathroom and round bath tub as well as a shower. The kitchenette has all the required stuff. Breakfast was great and prepared freshly while you wait. As it was raining cats and dogs for two days, Gerda our host even offered us the use of her umbrellas as we made our daily trips to the MacArthur stadium. I can recommend this place for a relaxed and homey breakaway in Potchefstroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at On Golden Pond guesthouse. The garden is stunning to relax in and the rooms were comfortable with every possible need catered for. The owners were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was also very tasty and a a wide spread of food was available

Beautiful area. But it is situated on a corner of a busy street. On arrival, the owner welcomed me friendly at the doorstep. After checking in, she took me my room. Huge room, old-fashioned, but comfortable. Beautiful bathroom. Aircon was not working, but she apologised. A few things I would like to have were more than one bath towel, because after a bath before going to bed the towel will not getting dry by the next morning and no soap on the bath side. The soap and cream were in containers in the shower. Breakfast was good, everything I asked for. A place to stay in the future again. Save parking.

This was only a one night stay to attend a wedding so we spent very little time at the guest house. There are 5 rooms with various configurations of single and queen beds and some with 3 beds so the accommodation is flexible.
There is secure off street parking. The location is within easy access of the University and sports centre. In fact the town is quite compact and shopping centres are also nearby.
Breakfast was very good with homemade omelettes prepared to order. There is a lovely shady garden which would be a welcome retreat from the summer heat.
