They serve very typical local food. Own grown vegetables, Home made Pasta and meat from the own farm. And you have a quiet sleep, up on the Mountain. Next Time we will Stay more than just 2 Nights because it is a wonderful Place in a natural environment and the sea and the wonderful Beach "piscinas" is close.
The experience at L'Aquila has been amazing in every aspect and we feel so lucky to have found it by chance on a last minute booking on the internet. First of, the road that takes up the hill to the agriturismo is beautiful: a breathtaking view throughout the whole road where you can easily spot deers. An untouched and unique environment that welcomed us to this magic place. Don't get turned down by the dirt road: it is, in fact, pretty easy to drive on and well maintained. We went up and down with a regular Fiat Panda (not 4x4) quite a few times and we did not have any problem whatsoever. The agriturismo is simple, functional, very clean and well maintained and it has an amazing view over the hills up to the sea. The rooms are spotless clean and feature air conditioning (though I would guess it is rarely needed as the air up there is so fresh!) a very clean bathroom and a beautiful view. The sunsets from up there are breathtaking. Beautiful beaches with sand dunes are reachable within 30 minutes drive. But the best part of it all are Pietro and Ginetta: the owners of L'Aquila. They are genuine, warm, welcoming and extremely gentle people and they made us feel at home and at our ease as soon as we stepped into their place. Pietro is a farmer who has been living in this place through his whole life. He owns 240 goats and in the morning, upon my request, he showed me how to milk them. He also showed us how to make cheese and ricotta and he guided us to try some of the steps to make them. Ginetta is one of the best home cooks we have experienced in decades after our grandmothers. She effortlessly prepares elaborate four courses meals that are mostly made with their own products (cheese, meat, vegetables, fruits, mirto liquor, etc.) and taste amazing. We had the pleasure of also meeting the daughters and other relatives of Pietro and Ginetta who have all been so nice to us and made us feel part of the family. We cannot wait to be back to L'Aquila and we can't recommend this place highly enough. It is Sardinian hospitality at its best. …
Very welcoming hosts in a beautiful location. The rooms are simple but sufficient. The dinner is excellent. Every evening a superb typical Sardinian three course meal is served. The great view, the fresh air and the quiet reward for the lengthy adventurous way up the hills to the farmhouse.
The farmhouse is high in the mountains overlooking miles upon miles of countryside and stretching to the sea. A modest farmhouse with basic accommodation. Room was clean, warm with views over the mountains. Amazing hospitality with endless amounts of farm cooked food, served by the farmer and his wife. Shared our experience with 20 cross country bikers on a 3 day tour. Amazing experience in this far reached hill top farm.
The Agriturismo is situated high on a ridge, with fantastic views down to the coast. The family is very welcoming, and the food is delicious. It's in a good location for the beaches of the Costa Verde. The night sky is incredibly clear, if you like star gazing. You need a sense of adventure to stay here, especially if you drive the access track in the dark!
