The Darling lodge guest house in Darling offers exceptional accommodation. Having recently added 3 brand new suites in their garden, this adds more class to their set-up. They have used the finest fittings & furniture in these new suites and their beds (especially the pillows) are fabulous - everything in the bathroom works very well & the fact that they have a classy set up with inverter etc makes any Eskom problems obsolete!
Stephan and Oliver are exceptionally friendly hosts and we can thoroughly recommend their guest house.

We had a great stay at Darling Lodge, Stephan made us feel very welcome and shared his inside knowledge of the area, about wine farms, retaurants, Darling Sweets etc. We stayed at the newly built suite - lovely decor, crisp white linen, aery and spotlessly clean. Saturday evening at the Old Forge 1910 restaurant was amazing, attentive, friendly service, lovely meals and cool live music. The short drive from Cape Town, relaxing stay and a beach visit to Yzerfontein made it a memorable weekend.

We stayed with our two children for one night and just wanted to say thanks to the hosts for the great atmosphere, personal interaction, and great conversation. A simple but great place. Unpretentious, with the effort spent in just the right amount where it matters. Definitely worth a visit.

This was one the most exceptional places I’ve stayed in. There was an attention to detail that was all about your stay. Everything worked and there was no crawling under a table to find a plug to charge your phone or battling to open a cupboard that sticks. In fact there was an USB plug right next to the bed. While the decor was kept simple, it was pleasing to the eye. We stayed in a garden suite. The hosts were also fantastic. Helpful and interested in our stay without being intrusive or prescriptive. If you are there early in the week as we were I would definitely take their recommendations for dinner. Otherwise you may have none! The hosts are obviously dedicated to the well-being of Darling and making sure visitors have a positive experience. And that we did.

Friendly and nice accomodation for a few nights stay. Good breakfast with personal service. Owner is focussed on the visitor and did a lot in preparing some day trips to cape town.
We were very satisfied and will consider to stay again.

Stephan was a warm and friendly host. The garden room was peaceful, quiet, thoughtfully equipped, and very comfortable. I did enjoy the breakfast.

Unfortunately the guest in the room next door smoked on the shared patio right outside my room - my room smelled of cigarette smoke much of the time. Areas for those who smoke should be away from accommodation.

The lodge is very conveniently located in a quite street close to lovely restaurants.

Darling Lodge Guest House - a beautiful hideaway to relax and enjoy life with a romantic garden. Everyday a fresh breakfast buffet with a warm eggs-selection individualy prepared. Very clean rooms, and brand new large pool suites!

The lodge is in easy reach from Capetown, the coastline and is a point on the Darling Wine Route. Don’t miss a visit of the close by Ormonde Wine Estate (in walking distance from the lodge) - beautiful setting, tasty food and premium wines!

The hosts Oli and Stefan are taking full care of all the guests, truly a wonderful place to enjoy the warm hospitality of South Africa!

We booked a trip to Darling western cape, to visit some wines estates, & booked this lodge for our stay. Our host Stefan was so welcoming & so knowledgeable regarding all the best attractions in the local area. Beautiful old colonial residence with swimming pool & out building’s where you can unwind in a beautiful peaceful surroundings. We had one of the best experiences travelling anywhere in South Africa, & this is my 18th visit to this wonderful country. The breakfast is to die for with continental style breakfast as well as a cooked breakfast, there’s nothing left out. Your room is serviced daily by friendly maids, & the rooms are all en-suite & have a wonderful charm. I would thoroughly recommend this lodge & wish I could give it a higher rating, definitely staying here again in the near future.

We had a fantastic couple of nights at the Darling Guesthouse. Stephan was the perfect host, absolutely charming, there when you needed him but also left you alone to relax in the beautiful garden next to the pool. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful in a special room overlooking the garden. Darling itself is a quiet residential town but there is plenty to see with vineyards close by and a sweet little museum which is next door to the guest house. We would highly recommend a stay here and it’s only a hours drive from Cape Town.
