This was one the most exceptional places I’ve stayed in. There was an attention to detail that was all about your stay. Everything worked and there was no crawling under a table to find a plug to charge your phone or battling to open a cupboard that sticks. In fact there was an USB plug right next to the bed. While the decor was kept simple, it was pleasing to the eye. We stayed in a garden suite. The hosts were also fantastic. Helpful and interested in our stay without being intrusive or prescriptive. If you are there early in the week as we were I would definitely take their recommendations for dinner. Otherwise you may have none! The hosts are obviously dedicated to the well-being of Darling and making sure visitors have a positive experience. And that we did.

Room Tip: During the flower season, book ahead of time. They were full when we were there.

I was part of a group of 4 couples and we stayed overnight at this Guest Lodge. It is very clear that the place is owner-managed; the attention to detail, decor-wise and practical issues for the guests was exceptional, examples of this were the numerous plug/USB points, good coffee in the room and the spaciousness, cleanliness and comfort of the room and bathroom. The garden is beautiful and clearly well cared for. Breakfast was superb and catered for any taste. We found Stefan to be an incredible host. I will definitely be back

Clean room, comfortable beds, very friendly. The breakfast buffet and cooked breakfast options were excellent and well presented. We sat in the lounge, had a glass of wine, listened to our own music choices, there was a lovely atmosphere. Fab place to stay.

We had a great stay at Darling Lodge, Stephan made us feel very welcome and shared his inside knowledge of the area, about wine farms, retaurants, Darling Sweets etc. We stayed at the newly built suite - lovely decor, crisp white linen, aery and spotlessly clean. Saturday evening at the Old Forge 1910 restaurant was amazing, attentive, friendly service, lovely meals and cool live music. The short drive from Cape Town, relaxing stay and a beach visit to Yzerfontein made it a memorable weekend.
