There isn't enough space in this paragraph to adequately explain our stay at St Andrews. From the moment we arrived we were only given the best treatment. From the warm, welcoming, professional, generous staff to our beautifully appointed suite and all round decor of the hotel - we were blown away. I never thought I'd spend an afternoon in my own private spa bath, eating chocolate covered strawberries and drinking wine! After a wonderful dinner at The Thistle we returned and found our room had been dolled up to the nines with turn down service - thank you Priscilla! The room was so comfortable we nearly missed breakfast (which would have been a tragedy! - again - fantastic food and service, Patrick and his magic 'vaatjie' filled with champagne.) Difford, Robin, Louis and team - thank you for the most amazing treat and making it such an unforgettable experienc. The Royal St Andrews is an asset to and icon in Port Alfred and the Eastern Cape.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Royal St Andrews in January 2020. We enjoyed the comfortable hotel room opening onto a peaceful patio/ garden area with table and chairs, and the convenient, modern and spotless tiled swimming pool for that fresh dip on hot days.
The hotel is designed around an old English pub ‘The Highlander’ built in 1800’s and still running.. the extension is cleverly and beautifully designed and flows onto modern reception areas and 2 more restaurants and a day spa. We enjoyed the tasty and varied breakfast options in their attractive breakfast room
The staff are helpful and professional. The Hotel is opposite the local golf club, and within walking distance of Kellys beach and a tiny shopping area with lovely restaurants ‘postmasters village’ in Prince Avenue.
Thank you, Royal st Andrews for a most pleasant stay

The place is warm and welcoming the staff friendly. The area is fairly secluded enough so you can enjoy privacy but also close to shopping malls for a quick trip to town. The beaches nearby very neat and direction s fro the hotel to the beach fairly easy and the staff is so willing to offer suggestions to entertainment to make your stay as memorable as possible.

The food was exceptional, located in a perfect quiet surburb, dinner was paired with wine for every meal. I think that’s a great idea. The staff went all out helping me to secure a room, the porter is so well informed with the nearby attractions, shops and tourist info

The hotel is absolutely stunning, clean, quiet and has a beautiful garden view. Added a romantic setup to my room which had flowers, champagne, chocolate, rose petals and dessert at a very affordable price. The service we got from the receptionist and the porter was excellent, the food was delicious, everything about this place was top notch. I would definitely refer the hotel to others.

Royal St. Andrews is definitely one of the top hotels I stayed at while travelling all over the world. I received a very warm welcome, check-in was really quick and easy, all the hotel employees were always ready to fulfil any of my wishes with a smile on their face and made me feel at home. I highly recommend the CSpa treatments, there are a lot to choose from, I especially enjoyed the professional 60 min deep tissue massage that help me get rid of my back pain. There is a wide selection of warm and cold food and beverages for breakfast, and two more restaurants to choose from to have a meal during the day or in the evening. Both offer exquisite food, it looks amazing and tastes even better, I would say those are the top restaurants in Port Alfred by far and still at very affordable prices especially for the quality you get. I also recommend trying some of the wines, many of them actually won a price, you will understand why. The room was spotless clean and bed very comfortable. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the beach and also has a monitored parking. I had an unforgettable experience and will definitely come back. Thank you for making me feel special, well done to the whole team!

I was gifted a voucher for my birthday and booked some treatments at the Spa at the Royal St Andrew's Hotel and it was truly a delight. From the moment I entered, the environment was calm and relaxing (while strictly adhering to the COVID-19 protocol). The treatments were excellent, therapist professional and the facilities clean and well organised. I strongly recommend a visit for a spa treatment and spoils for you and/or your loved one at this very upmarket spa.

The reception staff and porters was so friendly and helpful but here it stops.
Rooms not really luxury compared to others
You really need to spend money and upgrade you tv and music channels.
Breakfast was very nice.

Dear lizad327, Thank you for writing a review on your experience at our Hotel. We appreciate all the feedback we receive. I am surprised to hear that you do not find our rooms luxurious enough as we have never before had this kind of feedback. As you are aware, we have just come out of a lockdown that did extreme damage to the Hospitality Industry and yet we are still operating 4 star Hotel TV channel bouquet. Even though we would have loved to upgrade the TV service, the owners of our Hotel saw it wise to not invest in any sort of price hikes for upgrades presented to us, but to instead keep on all the staff and rather pay our salaries. This is only one of the reasons why the cost of the rooms at the Hotel are still the most competitive for a Hotel of this calibre. Please understand that i am not trying to make excuses, i am simply explaining the situation. It is going to take a long time for this industry and Hotels around the country to recover and we our doing our best. One day when things are better again, we will be able to spend money. Thanks again for your feedback. Difford Louw General Manager

Good afternoon Angel3585, Thank you for enquiring with Royal St. Andrews Hotel. We only do a Continental Buffet Breakfast daily. Guests then order one Hot Breakfast off our A la Carte menu. The cost for this in total is R105 during the weekend and the weekend price is R140.00 per person (with an upgraded continental buffet and including a glass of sparkling wine). I hope this helps? Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information or assistance. With many thanks and warm regards, Difford Louw Royal St. Andrews Hotel.
