We are nearing the end of a month long stay at this lovely caravan park and we are sad to leave. The park has new owners who have made a supreme effort with the gardens, despite severe water restrictions. Susan and Johnny live on the property and are always available and very accommodating. The ablutions are newly painted and kept spotlessly clean by the friendly staff. There are well-grassed, shaded sites with privacy hedges which act as windbreaks. One of the highlights was the monthly farmers market which lent a festive atmosphere to the park. Security is good and we highly recommend a stay here!
Hedged, grassed sites with clean, neat and cheerful ablutions, birdwatchers delight, trees and flowering plants. Security gates close at 10pm, and there is a night watchman. We were careful to keep valuables locked up at night and had no security incidents
Of all the many caravan parks and camping grounds in which we have stayed, my husband and I don't recall another quite as beautifully maintained as the lovely Medolino Caravan Park in Port Alfred. We spent a night camping there (there is also self-catering accommodation) and will definitely return next time we are travelling in that area. It was like camping in a beautifully kept park - lush green lawns, a delightful little pond, beautiful gardens, shady trees and each stand well protected by a pretty and sheltering hedge. The bird life was amazing. Ablution blocks were not only spotlessly clean and roomy but but so pretty, done up in a lemon and egg shell blue decor.Washing up facilities etc good too.the caravan park is centrally situated near swimming beaches, the Kowie River and plenty of eateries. Although we were only there overnight we could see it would be a lovely resort for a family holiday. Owner was friendly and welcoming too. I highly recommend it. Port Alfred is a gorgeous town, too. Wish we had been able to spend more time there.…
My husband booked a campsite at Medolino for one night. This is one of the neatest caravan parks we've ever been to. The lawns, all buildings, including ablutions, are neat as a pin. Green luscious lawns and trees and shrubs all around. The owner, Anita, welcomed us personally and also delivered our little braaier. We were 1 of only about 5 camp sites occupied that night. It was so quiet and peaceful. We did not walk to the beach, but according to Anita it is only a short walk. If we are in the area again one day or decide to tour the Eastern Cape again we will most definitely stay longer.
The best attention to detail caravan park we visited during our 3 month trip from Springbok down the west coast and up via Montagu, Port Elizabeth and East London. Manicured gardens and thickly grassed sites. Ablutions spotlessly kept and plenty of very spacious showers. A small dam for the avid birder will reveal Cape Cormorant, darter, pied and malachite kingfisher and many other birds. The owner, Anita, and Elize the receptionist were very friendly, welcoming and kind. This must be one of the most overlooked beauty spots in South Africa situated in Port Alfred.
