Panorama, perched high on the West Bank of the Kowie River, lives up to its name. There are wonderful views over the pool across the garden, towards the Marina and the dunes of East Beach and the sea. The three en-suite guest rooms are individually decorated with sliding doors opening onto a large veranda. Marianne and Rob offer warm hospitality and speak English, Afrikaans, Dutch and German between them. We have auto change over power supply in the event of power failure, filtered purified rain water for drinking in all the rooms as well as our own supply of municipal water in the event of municipal shut down.

We received a very warm welcome. The guest area is in the lower part of the house with a large terrace, a beautiful pool and, above all, an impressive view over the city, the river and the sea. The rooms and furnishings are great. There is an excellent breakfast that the host prepares individually. So: anytime again!

Marriene and Rob were the best hosts ever! I've never seen such wonderful people that made me feel welcome everyday as though it was my first day in Port Alfred. Panarama guest house is beatiful, clean and they serve the best breakfast :-) They gave me a list of all the beautiful places to visit which made my vacation so pleasant as I was not familiar with the place. I would go back any day:-)

DEFINITELY worth your money. Great people, nice view and relaxing. If you need to get away from city buzz, this is perfect!! The breakfast is also very nice and the people treat you like "family". Best guesthouse I've ever been to.

A lovely guest house in Port Alfred,Rob is a fabulous host, he is a wealth of information and his breakfast is scrumptious. This was a one night stop on our trip but Rob was welcoming and even though for just one night we were welcomed like family. It’s a definitely a great place to stay in Port Alfred in a great location for local amenities.

A very spacious and clean room with a small kitchenette with microwave and a lovely view. Not totally private as all the rooms open onto the pool. The DSTV didn't work. Delicious breakfast served on our patio but no table and chairs in the room if the weather was inclement. Would recommend.

Beautiful, modern guesthouse with three self catering rooms which lead onto a well maintained garden.
Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Pleasantly surprised with sherry for a night cap.
Delicious 3 course breakfast with freshly baked muffins.
Would definitely revisit. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely guest house with great views, stylish and well appointed rooms and lots of lovely touches in the room (such as fresh flowers, fresh coffee and a little sherry night-cap!). There is a very friendly welcome and a delicious breakfast! Superb value for money and highly recommended.

I've stayed here nearly every time I've been to South Africa for the past couple of years. Consistently great value and service. Rob and Marianne are always welcoming and helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area (they introduced me to poorman's gamedrives, as well as enjoying a sundowner and take away fish and chips on their boat!).
My room has always been clean, tidy and well decorated. The views across the Marina are stunning and it is literally a ten minute walk down the hill, in one direction to town and in the other, to the beach.
There is always a good spread at breakfast -continental with cooked if you want and there are always muffins -my two favourites are Marianne's cheese puffs and her bran muffins.
I can't recommend this place enough. Whilst I've always been on my own, other guests that have stayed there at the same time as me include couples, parents of students from the local catering college and families and they have all seemed as happy and comfortable as I was.
I'm not a taking-photos of rooms person so v. sorry but the best I can offer is a view when i was working, from the terrace outside of my room. However I can vouch that the photos on their website are what you get in reality. Also, they have a really useful section on their website, the activities page, which has links to all the game parks, horse riding, golf and other things to do in the local area if you're planning to stay there for a while.

In my experience of 10 years with different accommodations,I can't explain enough how RUDE are the owners of this Guest house.Such cruel, inhumane people.Oh gosh! In this era ? Is there people out there talking down to other people like they don't exist? The arrogance I received just by questioning the service that was partially given and YET I paid full service/amount.Instead of an apology I was talked down to, intimidated and felt unsafe.Completely no respect of guests, let me say me as guest I received confrontation instead of an apology for a service partially given.Oh I can't believe there's still such pathetic attitude in this era. What happened to humanity? I paid for the stay but was treated as if they were doing me favor .Marianne screaming at me on the phone, and her husband Rob came all the way from upstairs to scare a woman, talking down to me confronting me .Heartless!
