The room was perfect, a beautiful sea view with a massive comfortable bed, an open air shower and stunning on suite bathroom. The breakfast each morning was something to look forward to, with a wide selection of food to suit any apatite. Our host. Jurie, was professional, helpful (directions to local attractions etc) and available any time day or night to assist us with our various requests.

We decided to do a last minute trip to Port Alfred to spend the Weekend celebrating with family who were also renting accommodation in PA. We were very fortunate to find (the very last available!!) accommodation at Villa Vista Guest House. My first thought was that this may be dodgy, this being the only B&B still available!
Jurie Wessels, the owner, was most helpful and so polite and friendly, immediately allaying any fears of this being "sub-standard". Well what a surprise on arriving at Villa Vista. There was Jurie waiting for us and ushering us into the lovely grounds of his impressive establishment.
The room was really well appointed and comfortable. Everything in good working order with the usual tea and coffee supplies, but more than that, a lovely plate of Christmas mince pies and cookies. Lovely touch Jurie!!
The breakfasts were really great. Fresh table with cereals, three yogurts, fruit, cheese and cold meat. Notably every morning they were freshly placed, not "left overs from yesterday".
Jurie always on hand to satisfy whatever our wish was for the hot side of things. Eggs however we wanted them with the a variety of delicious side accompaniments.
Coffee brilliant!!
We will definitely return should our paths take us that way again.
Thank you Jurie and your very friendly staff for a great stay at Villa Vista.

A delightful and very welcoming guest house with superb , comfortable rooms and facilities. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and enjoyed the roominess of our suite and the fabulous breakfast on the porch overlooking the city. A lovely start to our 3 weeks in Namibia.

A lovely room and bathroom with beautiful linen, plenty of warm blankets and towels. The host, Jurie was most helpful and hospitable.. The breakfasts were fabulous. Lovely view from the verandah. An excellent stay. Hope to return in summer.

Booked our stay on recommendations given here but it has sadly deteriorated significantly.
We were not asked to register on arrival and there were no advice booklet/folder or fire instructions in our room. The fridge was turned off and we had no milk to make tea or coffee.
We had asked for a double bed but we were given two twin beds pushed together and the bedspread was badly stained.
The room was cold throughout our stay and for the last two days we had no hot water in the bathroom. When we asked for a heater we were not allowed one. I was given an iron to borrow but it had several scorch marks on the sole so I did not dare use it.
There was no lounge available indoors for our family group of seven to meet, as promised in our confirmation email.
We were not offered a cooked breakfast until the fourth morning.
We left a day early at our own expense and the final straw was having to clean the dog mess off two pairs of shoes which was picked up from the unlit garden.
All in all, a great disappointment, be warned.

We stayed one night here on our way along the coast and it was fabulous. The owner and the staff just could not do enough for you. We were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality we never wanted to leave! The room was beautiful, spacious, immaculate and had little touches everywhere to make you feel at home. 5 Star

We didn't book in advance, as we weren't aware where we are going to stop for the night.
The owner was really nice to us. The room was spacious, it had all that is needed and a touch of home, lavender flowers in the bathroom, wine glasses plus cups in addition to tea cups usually met in hotels. Also it had a nice porch with the blankets, on the porch, where I guess would be a great view, but the weather was awful so we couldn't enjoy it. To sum up, if the weather was better we would happily stay longer than we planned.

We stayed at VillaVista Guest House for 2 nights in December 2012. We were absolutely blown away from the hospitality Lisa & Juri gave us. We have had 2 wonderful Braai with them. The Room was lovely, clean and the shower can take up to 3 people. Unfortunatly you can only give 5 stars here - I would give them 10 stars. The best - no, we are sure - the only place to stay in Port Alfred. We will be back some day! Go there - you won't be disappointed.

Very welcoming and friendly. Lovely place to stay, could of sat around their pool and hung out in their "outdoor lounge" all day! Close to the harbour and town centre. I would highly recommend and will be staying there again next time I'm in Port Alfred.

This place is over-priced, and unpleasant. Guests are allowed to smoke in on the porch outside your window. The towels were not very bright or fresh. There are only two good things about Villa Vista Guest House.

1. The Location
2. The garden

As for the rest.... The white towels are way to grey. The breakfast is uninspiring cheap supermarket quality. They could not even be bothered to remove the stale croissants from its wrapping. The cheese and cold meats were little shreds placed on a bed of lettuce that had not been refreshed since the previous day

It is also very expensive for what you get. R650.00 is ridiculous. The Three Star Hotel down the road is cheaper, and has a restaurant that's open all day. Villa Vista serves only a really poor breakfast.

The TV, not that I watched anything, was an old box-type in a cupboard two metres high...

The workers were pleasant and helpful. The owner spent much of his time keeping his dogs at bay.
